finally, Braves need a better closer i mean he was alright, but he had a bad tendency to put people on and blow saves
And the only thing of note the Rangers have done all season besides trading Tex. BTW they won the 2nd half of that double header 9-7, so they scored 39 runs in one day. That should skew the stats slightly at the end of the season.
Braves finally found there bats again, just beat Flordia 13-2 The real assbeating of the night is taking place in Detriot where the Yankees are loosing 16 to 0 in the Top of the 9th, they've been held to 3 hits
The Diamondbacks are hanging in there. Last night they were stealing and bunting at will against Chris Young. They hammered him! The Padres started Jake Peavy on 3 days rest tonight. Peavy got rocked. Diamondbacks lead 8-5 in the 5th right now. Hopefully Livan Hernandez can hold on to the lead.
Right now the Diamondbacks are about -40 in run differential. I wonder how many teams have made the playoffs with that bad of a run differential?
REalistically can either Detroit or Seattle came back from behind and take the Wild Card spot from NYY?
"What Chaos Descending has said is true, our customs are different. What the Uncle Albert has said is unimportant, and we do not hear his words. (I just called the UA a liar.)"
There in bottom of the 7th, Smoltz has a no hitter against the Nats, Braves lead 7-0..and the Nats just committed there 4th error edited again: lead off single in the 8th fininshs it, but hey for 40, a one hit game through 7+ aint bad Cox just took'em out though edit 2: Braves win 7-1, but just before the 9th, some idiot ran on the field and when a guard tackled him he hit his head and blacked out, few minutes later he came to and they say he'll be ok, but i hope they throw the book at that idiot
It's great that they're doing it with young and mostly homegrown guys. Most of the free agents they have are second and third tier guys. Orlando Hudson is a tough loss, but hopefully they'll overcome it.
Another day of pitching failures in Atlanta, they give up 5 in the last few inninngs and couldn't hang on to sweep the Washington looking foward to this New York series, last time around we got swept by them (hopefully they can get some revenge)..looking at the pitching... James lost last time giving up 4, and got a lost against Perez who last time out we beat up pretty good getting 6 runs in 5 inninngs Carlyle who beat them last time out but has struggled this year vs against Hernandez who got a no decision last time Smoltz last time out but lost and in the decision before that gave up 2 but had no decision vs Maine who in his last 10 starts are 1-1 against the Braves THere's always a chance, in every other series the Braves have taken 2 outta 3 except for the series the other week where the Mets swept..
I just really really really don't want the Yankees getting into the playoffs. I don't care who gets the ALCS pennent so long as it isn't the Yankees. I can only hope and dream that they get into a big slump in the next few weeks and that Seattle or Detroit just get on fire. Fuck, I hate the Yankees.
...Mets lost and the Braves won earlier I'm hoping the Cards can beat out a win against the Phily. The Phils had a 11-0 lead in the 6th and now its the 9th and there up 13-11, heres hoping the Cardies pull it out in the bottom of the inninng and win this thing..
Somebody explain to me what happened to the Red Sox. They were 14 games over the Yankees at the All Star Break and are probably going to lose the AL East to the Yankees. How does that happen?
The Red Sox bullpen is going through a tough stretch at the wrong time. The Diamondbacks are 1 1/2 games ahead with 8 games to play. They're hanging in there!
Take a look at this video of Milton Bradley hurting himself while having a meltdown with an umpire! (toward the end of the video) http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?videoId=3033623&n8pe6c=1
