I'm more of a home body now, more introverted. There was a time when the only time I was at home was when I was sleeping. I'm in an apartment now. The only thing to do is watch tv (netflix/hulu/amazon) or read a book. and I haven't bought a new book in ... weeks.
Got a big tv in the basement that hasn’t been turned on in months. Kept the 32 inch in the living room. It’s mostly just for background noise anyway. That, and storybots.
Hmm... You guys make me I feel like I'm over doing it then. My living room TV is a 75" and my bedroom TV is now a 65". My sound setup is pretty good, in the living room I'm using a Sonos Playbar, with a Sonos Sub, and these as surround speakers. And for the bedroom, I have this setup. Later in the year, I'm planning on upgrading the living room to this speaker from the Playbar. And I also have a couple Play One's around the house. One in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, and another in the guest room. I'm also giving my mom the same setup for her living that I have in my bedroom.
I'm looking at my set-up, which uses a 27" as the main. Boy, I wish I had room, I'd transfer the old 40" to here. No room
The fucking thing just stopped working! No picture. They're actually sending out a TV repair man! In a week.
What brand is the TV? Is the person coming out a tech for the brand itself? Are you getting audio from it? Try holding an LED flashlight up the TV, see if you make out an image. If you can, then it's probably the LED back lighting that went out.
If you didn't see anything, then it could be the power board, or main board, possibly the t-conn. If you take the back off of the TV, disconnect the power lead from the power board to the main board, and the screen lights up then it could be the main board. But opening up the TV would most likely void the warranty.
Give it a good whack. Our samsung from 6 years ago continues to soldier on. I wish it would die and I'd upgrade to 4K (but I don't think I have 4K eyes).
Yeaaahh, not gonna screw with stuff I don't understand. Repair guy is coming. The previous Samsung is back up and running (on a little table in front of the new one :/ )
Any other time it would be okay. This year? Taking the back off a TV might unleash the demons of hell or some shit. Like in "Doom."
Cute! Wait a minute.....there's a crumpled beer can and a pie tin in the bottom picture. Now we know why the deer like to hang out in your yard!
I hope they didn't tell the doggie that they are "just going to get some cigarettes" - that never ends well.
July 4, 1976 (77?) - blowing up model trucks with firecrackers and filming them in super-8 at 36fps. At the end of Sioux Ave, Franklin lakes, NJ. Wish I'd had my cell phone then, with it's 1/8 speed slo-mo.
