Since the Thunderbirds have been doing fly by's, last time I saw them was eleven years ago. I think I had an iphone 3 or something. It was at the annual air show in Ocean City, MD. a few days after my birthday.
small world the company I work for just got everyone's sizes for free t-shirts - I'm guessing they might not be as cool as yours.
LOL it's a friend of mine's charity in LA. Proceeds from the $25 (CDN) t shirts go to a women's domestic violence organization there.
New 43" 4K goodness, on a home-made stand with a swivel-mount for all-over-the-room viewing. Apologies for the messy dinner table.
^If I pull that straight out I get a 43" screen 16" closer to my face while watching Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger. W00T! Jane Seymour nekkid close up!
Yes I heard the late great Mitch Hedberg tell that joke. Man that guy was hilarious! "I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too!"
I'd love a bigger one (she said), but I have to deal with fitting it in that wall unit. I don't want to give up those display shelves. But it's a narrow living room, so I'm only sitting about 6-8 feet from the screen anyway.
We used to have an expensive oakentertainment center set up in much the same way. I had to ditch it when we switched to 16:9 sets because the television space in it was only big enough to fit a 32" screen.
I could fill that whole wall with a 72" screen and be in heaven, but it's the price of having a model and chachki habit that I don't want to lose those shelves. Hell, I grew up with a 12" black and white Sony in my bedroom, even this 43" is glorious to me.
As I get older, I like tv as much as the next person. And, I really dislike wearing my glasses while watching tv. I have a 42" set and a narrow living room so, I'm 6 to 8 feet from the tv as well. Most of the time, I see the screen fine, but have to put on glasses when choosing what to watch. @Uncle Albert has a narrower tv-to-seating than I have and a bigger tv. In all seriousness, why do men like bigger tvs?
I'm exactly opposite. As I get older I find myself less and less interested in television, except for things like movies on Netflix and whatnot. If we'd had some of the shows ten years ago that we do now? Like the superhero stuff on the CW? I'd have been all over that shit. But now? Meh. As to size, my largest TV is 52 inches and while I can marvel at the really big ones when I see one in a store, I just don't care to go any larger than what I have. 4k, 8k, sure, I'll go that direction. But physically bigger? Nah. Much more interested in better sound than a bigger picture.
