Who fucking cares? Discuss politics, religion, philosophy and other sensitive issues from an American perspective, ffs. How many polls will follow? :bigyawn: I thought the first poll solved all the problems. What's left to discuss? NuRep has been accepted by the majority of the board members. So be it. "Problem solved", end of story.. Will the "I can't enjoy the board without the possibilitiy to drive people in the red"-crowd ever stop crying, or will these fucktards whine until the old rep system is reinstalled? Stupid imbeciles who can't enjoy a message board without silly rep games.

WF has always been interesting for me because I enjoy reading about American culture first hand and learn about opinions of American people, which are still very alien to me, even though I visited the U.S. twice. (Sorry to the few Europeans here... But we are a minority here, and personally, I like it this way.) But now, WF only discusses itself. It has become kind of a Metaboard where some posters abuse the forum to express their mental issues. (Hi Skinofevil...) Not that it has been always this way, and that's ok, but enough is enough. Please get back on topic.

    Fucking rep shit... Kinder..... Kindergaaaaarden....

Going back to the previous incarnation of rep isn't even a poll option. So I say cut our losses and dump the rep system entirely. It ain't pulling people in, and it ain't making current members happy.

Discussion is what we do, but I agree the decision has been made. I'm merely sharing my thoughts.

    WTF????

What, you thought that if you changed rep they'd all be lining up to join? Rep has nothing to do with lack of recruitment. The fact is that very few people know about WF, and even out those who may have heard of it some will be unsure of what it's about.

You have to market the place. You have to make the place known. Making rep changes and cosmetic movements of sub forums is totally irrelevant to recruitment. I was saying this months ago in the very first thread that was set up to discuss changes and recuitment. It's been ignored by most other than Scorp, and, to some degree, Tamar. You want knew members, put in the effort to go out there and get them.

Oh, and stop worrying about former members. They are twice as likely not to start posting as fresh people. They already know the place and they have a reason for no longer coming here. New blood doesn't.

What do you consider to be the first poll?

    Discussion is our thing.

    No it hasn't.

If the majority of board members voices were heard to begin with we wouldn't be stuck with the most recent rep change.

While the issue may have been decided, the problem is far from solved.

Why should they? Crying is what gets rep changed.

Any thought to the catalyst behind the change?

Completely agree. Which is why I'm for taking a break from the rep system.

No. I never thought changing rep would draw in new members. Believe I made that quite clear before the rep change.

Exactly. It has changed plenty. It has meant that the rep warriors have been shown up for the children they are, and it also means that when new members come they won't unfairly regard pack hunted people like actormike as unpopular posters with nothing to contribute because of a string of red pips.

If people saw no positive change the majority of this board would not have singled that they prefer the new system. The proof is in the pudding as they say.

That's kinda $corps point, we've simply changed the means of expressing animosity. I'm saying we haven't traded up.

No it really hasn't, at best it's changed the means of antagonizing other members.

That criticism cuts both ways, who is the bigger baby? Those who cried for rep to be changed or those who think the latest rep system blows?

This is not a valid point.

Is that right? By that logic the rep system should never have been changed in the first place.

NuRep vs. old rep: NuRep won. End of story.

Discussion about this rep crap is your thing??? :P ;) Discussion just for discussions' sake, no matter how unimportant the topic is? Ok, there is nothing against a discussion about stupid matters like gay rights just for fun, but discussing rep ad nauseum is just retarded.

Yes, it has. Check the results of the first poll. END OF STORY!

If the majority of board members voices were heard to begin with we wouldn't be stuck with the most recent rep change discussion. (rep poll II)

That's democracy. Not a perfect system, but the best system that is available. There will always be sore losers. But rational people who lost in a democratic poll just shut up and accept the results. Swallow the pain ("no more rep war, oh the noes!"), despite the taste. But some children here are too immature to live with democracy.

I agree. Get rid of this shit and start discussing good stuff again. I wish I could change my vote. I voted for NuRep, but in the meantime, I think it would be the best for WF to get rid of this crap entirely. It's just a stupid game and causes too much trouble. It's worthless and it distracts the members from very important questions like gays in the military, women in the military, gay marriage, if Sokar and enlisted person are really THAT stupid, or if swallowing is important.

So, only about 20% of the board wants to trash rep? That's a huge increase from what, 4% a few years ago. But not enough.
Looks like in the end, the privacy rules will be about the same and rep won't change. So much for Tamar's tyranny.

    Fair enough. :)

Exactly. But to be fair, it didn't start with "NuRep vs. old rep" and clearly it still hasn't ended.

As democracies go WF isn't the best of examples. ;)

    Yep.

    Dump it.

It was a joke, nimrod. But you knew that. Keep shooting blanks.

Who have we lost because of rep and who has locked their accounts because of rep?

Because it is so clearly mature and grown up to, instead, troll someone with your sigline. :?:
Point of information: How was it "unfair" to regard people like actormike as unpopular and contributing nothing? :marathon:

So by your tally two former members have returned because of the rep change? Fair enough.

Any thought to Aurora being unbanned as a contributing factor?

As for gul? He can speak for himself yet I can't imagine neg-rep kept him away for so many years.

    Re-read the quote you're responding to. ;)
