I should seriously get some new pictures- to be honest I've put on a bit of weight and changed my facial hair, the horseshoe look was one I stuck with for several years... The pics are huge so, spoiler:

Two of them. The first one played a little of everything....from BS&T to Huey Lewis to Chicago, Blues Brothers, Adam Ant....you name it.

The second one was primarily swing (Setzer, Colin James, Harry Connick, Sinatra, BBVD, Benny Goodman...etc) and classic Rhythm and Blues (Sam and Dave, Booker T and the MGs, Wilson Pickett, and others of that vintage).

Almost all of the guys who played horns were members of this huge Drum and Bugle corps that had won national titles for years. A couple were also music teachers and high school or college marching band directors.

Me...as the lead singer....well, it's kind of like being the catcher on a baseball team.....necessary to make the thing work, but not the most exciting part of the game.

That was OK with me. I was so very lucky to have been able to share a stage with so many great musicians....it was an honor that'll be tough to match. Not only was it a thrill to hear those guys playing each song, they taught me so much about Jazz and the Blues.....I couldn't have paid for a better musical education.

Its been a while so here are a few ones. This pic is very special to me. Its from August of 06. I had gone to Dallas for a business trip and while there, my grandmother took a turn for the worst. I spoke to her on the phone and begged her to hang on until I could get home. In this picture I had come straight from the airport (after stopping by to purchase her favorite beverage) to the hospice. I figured she held up her end of the bargin so it was only fair that I gave her something. When I walked in the room and showed her what I had her eyes lit up like a little kid a Christmas. She passed away a few days later.

Nope, its older (by a decade or 2 or 3) Its a very large Roman fort built in the southern lake district (about 40-50 miles south of Romes final end of northern advance at Hadrians wall). It was mostly used to keep the local valley tribes in check. They had a tendency to suprise attack the Romans,... and each other :)

EDIT - okay so the board decides to shuffle the pics....#4 apperas first and #3 appears last....whatchagonnado?

    1. Yearbook photo, posted before. Nothing more recent as far people tend to avoid candid photos. (at least this one does)

    2. The Mrs, kinda washed out but she doesn't pose well (camera shy) and this is otherwise one of her better pics.

    3. Seldom photographed older son

    4. doesn't-actually-have-red-eyes younger son

Time lapse. The b&w one with the long hair and glasses was taken in '95 or '96.

The one with the really red (henna rinsed) hair is actually a screen-cap from the extra content on the Collector's Edition DVD of The Voyage Home. Had a professional makeup artist give me a glam look so I wouldn't wash out under the lights. And that was in 2002.

As for the current one, no henna, just letting the gray take its own path, and the camera phone distorts a bit. My nose isn't quite that big...I don't think.

Now, if you want *different*, here's this from 1973. I'm sure the trolls will have lots of fun with it:
