Carp are fun to catch..they fight like the devil. Most people in America look down on them (saying they don't taste good) but I disagree. Smoke a carp (in a wood smoker) that is caught in a clean, deep reservoire and you'll see what I mean...they're great! They serve carp in German restaurants....it's that good.
Taken by my former roommate, (the 2nd trumpet player in one of my bands), right before we left for a gig.
Various pics from various times. Some you can already find in the Nouveau Picture thread. This one was a Darkest_Noir creation that turned out pretty good. Darkest_Noir took this photo, but I added the fun little DVD menu stuff. It looked like a DVD menu still to me. This was on the television compound at the Indianapolis 500. Taking pictures on a laptop. Incredibly bored. More pictures spawned from a lack of entertainment. Fun picture. I had a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers and a cigarette. So I used them. Um...Don't ask. Late night decisions out of sheer boredom. It led into an entire day of nothing but exactly what you see here. And, as was popular at the time, I did all the work. Im the one on the far left... Most of these are at least fairly recent... You can see the fluctuation of weight in these, as well. I lost about 40 pounds in two months. ...Time to start back up on the daily exercises.
Here's one I haven't put up before (buddy just put it on Facebook). It's a couple years old. I miss my beard. Last summer. I miss Miami's... $3 a carton, and worth every penny! And this winter.
The long coat was just an every-day overcoat. The rest of the outfit, except for the boots, was pretty much what the whole band wore. The uniform was black pants, white or black shirt, necktie. I was the lead singer, so I was supposed to be....flashy and eccentric. So...my first set costume was that outfit. The first set started out with "Can't turn you loose", and lead into a bunch of Blues Brothers tunes, some Wilson Pickett, Van Morrison and stuff of that vintage. The next set was swing tunes, and my costume changed to this: ....with a few variations, depending upon the set and the venue. We were very serious about the music, but tried our best not to take ourselves too seriously when we performed. We were fun, silly sometimes, and for a few years, in very big demand in our area. Playing with those remarkable musicians (the horn line was amazing) is one of my fondest memories. (To answer Speck: I'm 6' 1" without the boots.)
