This is a poll to get an idea how the majority feel about rep at this point. Many people are silent in the threads, so it would be nice to get a broader view of the prevailing winds so to speak.
I think it should be reset to zero either every year or every 6 months. Gives new people a chance and levels the playing field.
I don't have a problem with it as it is- i would be VERY unhappy with the idea of no "quick comment" (or "attaboy" or "you fool") feature at all. Well, one thing, if it is to stay as is, I'd love to be able to see on the list the ACTUAL points and not just pips and rankings. How do i know how far i am away from someone else when we have the same number of pips but they are 6 places higher on the list? (trivial i know but still...)

Hmm... I'm liking my idea. Not only should it be reset to zero twice a year, but the amount of points it takes to move the bar should be greatly reduced. That way we would have ever changing green/red bars - not the boring ever static bars we have now.
The rep scroll over comments change as you get more points. Where you are you can narrow it down to within 1000 points. Lower levels are split at 500, 250, and 100. Where Tamar is they only change every 10000. I wrote the list, I can find it for you if you really want it.
Nothing. I wasn't even aware of it until someone had congratulated me about it. Well..... maybe there was some satisfaction that people liked my posts enough to get me there without rep wars, mutual rep pacts, or a great deal of rep whoring.
Ok, ok, ok Here's my final idea, 1. Rep resets to zero every 6 months. 2. The points required to move the bar are reduced by 2/3rds. 3. People who top out the green bar within the 6mo window win a picture of Tamar's boobs. 4. People who top out the red bar within the 6mo window win a picture of Lanz's boobs.
Eek. No one wants a picture of the gravity-ravaged knockers of a 38 year old dialysis patient, for God's sake. Get Mrs. Albert or TKO to donate their lovlies...that would be a much better prize!
I like the idea of just having a 'like' (+ comment) feature. Don't care about points, except for viewing the occasional amusing "*** once went swimming within 30 minutes of eating" tags.
I voted for option 1, but option 3 wouldn't bother me at all. Option 2 is lame. You might as well name the board "Wordbook" or "Faceforge".

I voted number 2. I hate the way rep is used now. It's rarely about the post, and more about who posted it. At least for several of the mongoloids here.
For all the whining and bitching we get about rep, it's amazing that it's only 4 people (so far) who are making a big deal out of it because their sensitive pussies are hurt.. The HUGE majority want it to just be left the fuck alone or are apathetic. Take heed, mods and admins - Next time people complain about rep or want it changed, just think about the poll - four people, that's right, a total of FOUR whine and bitch and moan enough to make you guys think this is a board wide problem, when it really isn't. This should've been a public poll, but I can pretty much guess the four who voted for it to change.
I find the gang repping stuff to be really puerile but I don't see a need to change the current system. Leave it as it is, I say.
We've had this discussion many, many times before, and every time, after all's said and done, the conclusion is always the same: Leave the rep system alone.
Don't care myself. It's amusing to see the hystrionics that it causes amongst some though, so leave it be.
Change it, remove it, leave it..... dont care The only good thing I can think rep gives this place is an ability to see who the cliquey playground types are... Whether thats good or not
