If you scroll the thread a bit there’s a video where he still obviously has his hair and hasn’t lost any weight.
Break out your "Broken Irony Meter" GIFs for this one. Organizers of a Republican-backed Michigan petition to enact voter restrictions to combat would-be voter fraud missed the state's filing deadline on Wednesday after discovering tens of thousands of fraudulent signatures. This latest fake-signature scandal comes only days after the two leading Republican candidates for governor were booted off the ballot. Organizers had planned to submit the petition to the state by Wednesday's deadline but abruptly backed down after discovering that around 20,000 signatures were fraudulent. Organizer Jamie Roe insisted that the effort had gathered 435,000 signatures, more than the 340,047 required, but said the group did not submit the petition out of an "abundance of caution."
Florida's election stormtroopers make their first arrests. But, there's a problem... Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a spectacle out of the round of arrests made by his election police force earlier this month, jailing 20 people on charges of voter fraud and promising more prosecutions to come. At least one target was dragged to jail in his underwear by a SWAT team at 6 a.m. But it turns out that the individuals ensnared in DeSantis’ dragnet had no idea that they could not lawfully vote. The governor’s own appointees flubbed their legal duty to stop them from registering. And because of their sloppy errors, all 20 defendants may well be acquitted of crimes they did not intend to commit. DeSantis’ misadventure traces back to Amendment 4, the ballot initiative that was supposed to restore voting rights to most people who had completed sentences for felony convictions. (Those convicted of murder and sex offenses were excluded.) Floridians overwhelmingly approved the constitutional amendment in 2018. Yet DeSantis and his fellow Republicans promptly sabotaged the amendment by enacting an unnavigable, incomprehensible system for individuals who wished to regain their right to vote. The state refused to establish a coherent process for people convicted of felonies to learn they are eligible to cast a ballot. Many Floridians with disqualifying convictions, including the defendants arrested this month, are therefore unaware that amendment 4 does not apply to them. But they did not reach this conclusion on their own. As Politico’s Matt Dixon has reported, these defendants were told by Florida officials that they were legally permitted to vote. And because they believed these officials, they now face up to five years in prison for the crime of voter fraud. In affidavits and media interviews, defendants share the same tragic story: They filled out a voter registration card; their county election office approved it, telling them they could vote; they cast a ballot in 2020; and now they are charged with a felony offense. But wait, it gets better! The head of the election police, a DeSantis appointee, explicitly told local election supervisors that they were not at fault, contradicting the governor’s claims.
AL GOP chairman used a fake ID to vote. https://www.al.com/news/2022/10/alabama-gop-chairman-made-the-photo-id-he-used-to-vote.html
That article is a hilarious read. The dancing around the question of the apparently meaningless barcode is especially golden.
I’m always amused how people who are total nobodies always have access to state officials in places like Alabama. Also, this is my first acquaintance with the Great Seal of Alabama. Funny how it also prominently displays Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee, in case you weren’t familiar with where Alabama is located.
Here we go... DeSantis is making it easier to vote for counties hit by Hurricane Ian. But ONLY red-voting counties.
After campaigning on election 'integrity' VA Gov Youngkin's administration has absolutely botched new voter registration, finding nearly 150,000 new registrations that weren't forwarded due to a 'technical glitch' at the DMV for the 'motor voter' program. Guess where the majority of these registrations occurred? Yep, in predominately minority dense areas. It's not a bug, it's a feature. And 'election reform' for the GOP is just voter suppression with the extra step of actually bothering to lie about it first so you can pacify the suburban moms who need their evil couched in different terms so they can feel righteous when they are told by their church to vote for the GOP. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2022/10/31/virginia-motor-voter-glitch/
