Fucking seriously?! Even with the misplaced paranoia, what did those police officers do to deserve being ambushed like that? Another reason why more respect needs to be given to firearms instead of using them as tools to vent impotent anger.
This is a tragedy. My prayers are with the families of the victims and the Pittsburgh PD. I really don't know what to say.
Now my question is how people will take this, as a call to ban weapons or fear of the populace? Are those two thoughts related?
Hey I'm calm. It's just that situations like this (besides being tragic) are very frustrating to me... tearing me between my respect of the 2nd Amendment and the arguments for gun-control. Plus I personally know a few peace officers, so deaths of any officers brings up an irrational fear for their safety. Plus, honestly, it also makes me think of Elwood and how much it would suck if this were him. Ok, maybe I'm not that calm.
I hope I'm not, but if I ever am KIA, I will come back and haunt every last one of you motherfuckers if you let my death be used by the Brady Campaign.
It seems to me that his error here was only in misunderstanding the cops intent in approaching his home, not his reaction. After all, many posters here have said that they would go down fighting than be forced to give up their guns. Either that's a false claim, or a very scary one.
Yeah, but as things presently are, unless you've been involved in some other shenanigans, there is no reason to assume that a cop showing up on your doorstep is there for any reason at all pertaining to your guns. The whole 'going down fighting' thing has more to do with a door-to-door confiscation policy or shit like the aftermath of Katrina in N.O. If the U.S. FedGov is ever idiotic enough to push through a genuine firearms ban, watch out- that WILL lead to an armed revolution because most gun owners are smarter than to sit on the porch and wait to be picked off individually.
Ah, ok. Shit I missed that. I would imagine those domestic calls have to be tough, that can't ever be a good thing.
More details on the domestic disturbance call. A dog pissed on the floor and for that three cops died?
