LOVEDLOVEDLOVED tonights ep! I think it is VERY cool how closely they are tying into the whole overarching mythology from the first two movies and making one consistant universe out of it. I almost expected to see a T-101 looking like Ahnold wandering around in the PJD scenes. My question is this - did anyone else get the vibe that Reese is in the past (with his compatriots) as a lose cannon who is NOT on the same page as FutureJohnConnor (FJC)?
I kinda like this series, and i will keep watching it.... But,.... its not quite as good as i would have hoped. I cant quite put my finger on what, but there just seems to be something missing from it.
Just to remind UK viewers that Virgin1 (available on Freeview digital) are starting to show this on Thursday at 10pm with the second ep on Friday same time (premiere repeats on Saturday at 8pm). The original Terminator movie is on the same channel tonight as a lead-in.
Great episode. I loved the references to T1; we get to see the rubber-skinned T-600 and the lead up to the shoot out in Kyle Reese's flashback/nightmare. And if I was a betting man, I'd say Rivernator tortured Derek who gave up the location of the human hideout.
The thing that Rivernator palmed was the dead T-888's CPU! Maybe this jibes with the episode about dealing with Suicide Girl's death. Rivernator may be having "feelings" about killing a fellow T, and saved his "brain".
The Rivernator isn't big on full disclosure. I imagine there's another mission objective going on we don't know about.
Errr... the WGA. Remember that strike that went on for several months? All of the episodes we are seeing now were made prior to the strike. I simply dispute the claim that production will never resume. I think this show is popular enough to be picked up for renewal.
I managed to watch the first episode which I wasn't planning to do. While I had a huge amount of doubt to whether this show would be any good, I was pleasantly surprised and found it to be quite good. The new bird playing Sarah is nice but too athletic for my tastes and I still prefer Linda Hamilton. My only gripe was when Rivernator and the other terminator were fighting and rivernator pushed him against the wall, something just didn't look right - it didn't seem that believable to me. But anyway its worth me keep watching, gives me a reason to switch the telly on - which I tend not to most of the time.
I dunno, I watched the first episode last night and it came across as pretty 'boring' to me. And I love the Terminator movies.
I was impressed again tonight, especially with the clear reveal that the FBI agent believes, or at least is open to, Sarah's story. Also, a pretty brutal reminder that Cameron isn't doing any of this because she CARES.
First episode showed in the UK last week, thought it was great, although the Terminator is nothing on Arnie. Easy to just sit down, relax and enjoy without thinking too hard. Also what a milf Sarah is
Hotness is obviously down to personal tastes so different strokes for different strokes and all that, but I think Linda's physical appearance in my opinion was more in keeping with the character.
I don't really see Sarah and John to be the most interesting parts of the story, but for some reason I'm hooked.
Right, I saw the first episode last night and it was pretty good. Question, should I now read through this thread or will it ruin the experience for me. Remember in the UK we are only one episode in.
Ok, but buff-as-hell T2 Linda Hamilton, or scared-little-bunny T1 Linda Hamilton? Keep in mind that she didn't get buff until T2, and in fact wasn't exactly daring or kick-ass until maybe the very end of T1. (Oh, and I agree that it's getting pretty good. So WTF is up with next week's 2-hour season finale? More writer's strike fallout? Has this show been re-upped for next Fall?)
No word yet on whether or not it's gonna be re-upped, but the reason we're getting the season finale is because the entire season was shot before the strike. Since it's a Mid-Season replacement series anyway, that automatically means a short season.
Overall, I'm kinda liking this series, but I have a real hard time not comparing it to the movies (the first two, anyway). That was some cheesy-ass prosthetic work when Reese pulled the handcuff key thing out from under his "skin". I don't like the Sarah voiceovers that bookend the episodes, either. Poor imitations of the ones from the movies, IMHO.
Overall I like the series. But, there are points in some of the recent episodes where they sort of drag a bit. It's almost as if there is too much chit chat especially considering it is a "Terminator" themed movie. Let's face it, the movies weren't heavy into dialogue.
I like this show. I thought it would be stupid but it's actually pretty interesting. I hope they renew it. I like Cameron and the fact that she is not obligated to follow anyones orders. I do hope they reveal what the hell she and Reese know about each other. I could have sworn that she was in Conners "employment" before Reese was captured and brought down to that basement. Of course the ballet music seemed similar to the music in the basement. Maybe Cameron survives Judgement Day and switches sides and interrogates people through ballet. I also liked the scene between the Russians and Cameron. I noticed that Terminators in this show are unusually polite. Thank you for your service and thank you for your help. Skynet must have had customer surveys done to improve terminator mission chances. I like how they are redoing scenes from T2. It's a nice touch. I'm glad that Doctor Silberman wised up to the reality and it was quite ironic that he ended up in the asylum. Of course this shows to me that T3 is right out the window permanently as far as this show is concerned. Now we know for a fact that Turk was ignored by the Russian to throw the match. Wow. Judgment Day might come because some Russian owed some Russian Mobsters money. Oh and one other thing.... I like how Reese doesn't look at Connor as a "God" and pretty much treats him like crap. I was afraid that everyone from the future would be kissing his feet on sight but it shows that humans are still the same in the future. Greedy selfish ego maniacs who think they are better then everyone including John "Future Leader of the Human Resistance" Conner. A good show. A decent replacement for 24.
I could do without them. Also this is OT but it belongs here so In real life the proper strategy would be to do what you could to store caches of food, weapons, medicine and shelters all over the place. Areas where Skynet isn't going to lob nukes because it doesn't make logical sense to nuke a desert or a single farm in the middle of nowhere. Ignore the stop Skynet plan because it is obvious due to the appearance of more terminators that Skynet still gets built no matter what. Get the storage rolling and let Judgement Day come. You can change the past but you can't change the future. If Skynet gets built no matter how long you stall it then stall it enough to get ready and let it happen. Hell setup a website like John Titor and let it work. Who knows how many people might believe it and get ready.
Both of the above. The latest is a two parter, shown one right after the other, with separate episode numbers and titles.
