Developing countries have many educated, talented people completely on board with American values. The problem is that Trump only sees nationality, race, and religion.

I don't have a problem with brown people coming here--I work with a good number of them who are fantastic, both personally and professionally--but I'd rather they have skills and be prepared to contribute to the economy. I don't see much use in importing poverty.
Trump has a talent for selecting euphemisms that resonate with the 'avg. guy' demographic with which he's consistently been popular. Personally, I find the mainstream media publish garbage often not fit for wiping ass, yet he repeats the phrase "junk news" and it's one of those expressions you know what he's talking about without getting into a long packard about the precise etymology or precision of the indelicate phraseology that works so well with those who support him/don't kneejerk hate him blindly on everything. Much of that segment is a mass of america repeatedly and casually dismissed by the elite fart sniffers (truck drivers, bible or gun clingers, flyovers, deplorables, what have you). And facts are facts, everyone on WF knows exactly which countries someone is referring to when using the nasty generalization: "shithole" because it's the exact same definition applied here in common parlance. As to the merits of immigration based on origin of location, and whether shitholes are a source of candidates who are better/worse/just typical compared to other non-shithole places, I guess it's not such a terrible question to consider as part of the debate - we couldn't possibly do worse than we have in recent decades as we've applied ridiculous metrics like awarding points for left-handedness (or some sociologists definition of "different", I forget which, both are equally arbitrary and meaningless in contrast to decision based on merit). Even though I think it more likely that people from Norway will be better contributors than people from Honduras, I would subject both Norwegians and Hondurans to the same test: what do you bring to this country and what need do you fulfill here?
I do find it a little amazing how the people who live in the shittiest holes in America are so eager to see trump label foreign countries as shittholes. You are in white trash America with your decaying infrastructure and broke dick main street and you are bitching about foreign lands? I have seen so many white little shitburg main streets in rural America and even bums don't live there. The only reason nature is having trouble retaking them is because they have been stripped of food and edible garbage so even rats cannot really overrun them. It is not that they are not bug and rat infested, but without human waste there just simply is not the reclamation by vegetation to allow them to be as infested as a populated ghetto. However, if you get near the white trash homes there are plenty of bugs and vermin feeding off the waste from the social security white welfare queens. No one is coming back for white trash land in potholes far away from cities because there is no reason for it. There is nothing to exploit aside from a dying voting block. But it makes them feel good in their white heap of trash to start casting slurs at foreign places they know nothing about because faux news tells them it is true. We should stop funding those dying shuttles and move resources into the more populated areas rather than out in white fail. See how they like traveling hours for services because they live out in the middle of no where. Why the hell are we trying to save coal country when it is a shithole?

A large chunk of Trump supporters being hopped up on painkillers etc. could help explain the popularity of a guy so obviously lacking in what most would regard as "talent." But there's no way to express that w/o a sorta condescending pov on what constitutes talent (yes, I know, it's tough to shake off what being a NY lawyer for 25 years will infect you with, that stench of elitist sensibilities does not die easy, just ask any liberal on the left coasts).

Speaking as someone whose ancestors came from a country that was perceived to be without merit, low-skilled, and impoverished, please go take one of your many guns, load it, aim it at your face, and pull the trigger until you can't pull it anymore. The sooner you and others like you die, the sooner we can continue on as a society. You're doing no one any favors by sticking around, so you might as well end it now.
There is an interesting thing about America. Very rarely do the rich and entitled contribute much to its greatness. It is often the people who work their way up from the bottom that make the biggest hits. Money has its advantages but we find that after the original success story it is a general downhill road for the descendants of such a person. This is not always true, but often the donnie little hands of the world are lesser men who squander the fortunes made by more aggressive successes. It also should be noted that most men who accomplish great riches leave a wake of destroyed lives behind them. It often seems that a bit of savagery and lack of compassion often makes the best financial success. People who think trump is great because he has money are really stupid because trump has been a degenerate loser who has pissed away the fortunes of his father. You look at the Bush boys and you realise they are just barely getting along on their families wealth and power. For that matter Chelsea probably is just going to slowly lose the Clinton empire. Mitt Romney just has not pissed away his daddy's fortune quickly, but he has not been a real empire builder. The gates kids probably would do the same thing but their dad doesn't seem to be handing them his empire to fritter away. This idea that the children of great people are great people is really often wrong. The right believes way too much in dynasties, and going from insiders to the declining trump dynasty is not a smart move.
You're really a hateful little person, aren't you? My ancestors came here in similar circumstances. But that was a different time, and the country was very different.
