It's not a cop out. They are in the same fucking house. It's quite clear from the commercial that they are married. What the fuck is wrong with you?
YouTube is just rampant with trolls. Shit gets said just to get said. Google just doesn't give a damn about the comments just like YouTube itself didn't give a damn. The people at Cheerios should have had enough foresight to know that. You post anything on YouTube and allow comments and like a weed the racist idiots will come into the comments. Especially on a commercial like this one....
Is this too just an innocent observation - Get me on record here as saying that black people never have more attractive children than when they mix with SOMETHING other than black. Please.
Really? You really want to cloak blatant racism with "sounds like an observation"? 'cause lemme tell ya, pal, I could make lots of "observations" to shred that flimsy-ass excuse with.
The biggest question for me is why are they putting their commercials on Youtube as separate videos? What is the target audience that actively seeks out and watches commercials?
Quite a few, actually. I've wasted a few hours watching old commercials on YouTube. It's fascinating to see how they have evolved over the years.
You're a bigot. Do you think you're enlightened posting ignorant shit like that? Because you come off as the same type of people you're trying to condemn. Every denomination has individuals who want to keep their racial identity. Muhammad Ali, for example, was proudly against interracial couples. "Sparrows want to be with sparrows, bluebirds want to be with bluebirds." Remember that? If not, there's probably a video floating around YouTube somewhere, go do some research before you pull the obnoxious White Crusader schtick.
Well, I HAVE heard of dark-skinned blacks putting down light-skinned blacks and obviously mixed people.
It's a cute comercial. It's funny how the wife (although is there any evidence they're married?) looks like she's ready to go to work while the husband is crashed out on the couch. The little girl is adorable.
"Male of color"? Can't we roll with "colored"? We also need to bring back "charming negress". I know...my ugly is coming out.
Another thing about the Endangered White Male is that he's so far inside his own mindset he believes every man thinks the way he does. Consequently his OUTRAGE!!11! gives him away every time.
Seriously. I'm mixed and grew up in predominately black neighborhoods and got along just fine. No one ever told me that I wasn't really black.
Did you assume blacks were the only people who aren't your color? No, your Ugly's been waving in the breeze from the get-go. A lot of factors go into that, starting with white owners fathering children in the slave quarters and, sometimes but not always, having them raised as house servants rather than consigning them to field labor. Fast forward to the Bad Old Segregation Days, and white society's tendency to make allowances for blacks who look and act white. Lena Horne got entree to a lot of places her darker sisters didn't. There was a shift in the other direction in the late Sixties/early Seventies (echoing the one in the Thirties). But the overarching mistake throughout the uneasy history of blacks and whites in this country is the assumption that "All those people think alike." That way lies confusion no matter who says it. I mean, not even all Endangered White Males think alike. Kuranes probably has no problem with gay people. TLS, on the other hand, is threatened by anyone who isn't Just Like Him.
I'd say it is a no lose scenario for the company and/or the ad firm. I mean, they've already done their work and market research and such before they release an ad, but putting it up online gives them free input. Even if it is self-selected and contains trolling it gives them feedback on the ad for free. Also free publicity as the linked article points out. Hell, Mewa might even run out and buy a box of Cheerios to show his solidarity.
