Y'know, sometimes even I feel like I dunk too hard on UA, and I cringe with regret.
And then he says something awful or lame about pronouns or something, and the guilt vanishes.

I call it "the oldfella effect".

This has actually cleared up some confusion for me in that it's a phrase that's only recently really been on my radar.

The three basic premises you give are (or should be) uncontroversial, but I imagine the first being one a lot of people will object to if for no other reason than the existence of race seeming to be self evident to many.

Something that always bothered me about progressives is how slow they are to respond to the hysterical rantings of those on the right.

People are starting to wisen up though, and they recognize the current hysteria over CRT is a right wing ploy to win the midterm elections. They’re going to mine white grievance politics for as long as possible. The collateral damage, however, is that you can’t have an honest conversation about CRT.

Anyone arguing white supremacy should take a long hard look at just how much whites whine like little bitches over the slightest loss of dominance.

A response is what they want, though. The right needs the left to waste it's energy refuting idiotic conspiracy theories. Remember when everyone was talking about investigating January 6th, and Biden's infrastructure proposal? Now they're all talking about the Marxist and racist indoctrination of kindergarteners. The supreme court blocking Congress from reviewing Trump's responses to Mueller to prove he committed perjury was barely noticed in all of this.

Federal Farmer historically has refused to define the terms that he argues about, which then allows him to strongly oppose a strawman that no one is even arguing about, and shift his argument as the discussion continues and he begins to realize he doesn't understand the topic or the terms he is using. When called out for not understanding these terms, or refusing to explain what he understands those terms to mean, he refuses to "play that game," takes his ball, and goes home.

Even in this thread, he directly asked for others on the right to help define the term because he doesn't understand what it means, and refuses to accept the valid, neutral definitions that have already been provided.

Y'know, if Pennywise were real, and Federal Farmer's 6th great grandfather sided with him, and helped him procure kids to eat, all it would take to blind FF to that would be for his 3rd great grandfather to disguise Pennywise in an Easter bunny costume, and rename him Fluffy.
Then FF would vote for Fluffy.
And claim the Pennywise stuff was "a long time ago" and that "liberals just like to wallow in victimhood".

I’m fine with responding to all the inanity because if you don’t you lose control of the message.

John Kerry was not a strong Presidential candidate but you could make the case he lost to GWB because he didn’t respond to all the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ads. He should have been out there on day one saying these guys are full of shit, I didn’t serve with these assholes, and by the way here’s my band of brothers that know the truth. When he did respond more forcefully it was way too late.

Oh yeah, once it became mainstream he needed to respond forcefully. But John McCain didn't need to hold a press conference denying his secret interracial baby, and Hillary didn't need to take a polygraph to prove she wasn't raping kids in the basement of a pizza place.

I can see why something called "critical race theory" would be super scary to "certain people."

"Critical" is what nuclear reactors do before melting down and nuclear bombs do before exploding, and it reminds them of how the commies were going to drop bombs on us any minute until Reagan made Gorbachev tear down the wall and the Russians gave up Commieism and became good guys. It's also the first word in "critical thinking," which is the scariest thing ever.

"Theory" is a word scientists use when telling lies about things like evolution, the big bang, and gravity.

"Race" means NASCAR, and I'll be damned if someone is critical of NASCAR and I don't knock out a few of their teeth. Dale Earnhardt died for your sins and you will show him respect!

Do they still care about NASCAR after condederate flags were banned there?

It must be hard to be a culture warrior - they are going to be left with just Jackass and the Dukes of Hazard soon.

Well I'm certainly not about to defend the NEA, although certain parts of the wording do read as CYA to placate the Ethnic Minority Affairs Caucus (I've heard some tea from inside a very large public school system that makes me more confident about this than I otherwise would be), but the bold is obviously wrong from actually reading NBI 39 as linked. And as I pointed out, the strict CRT bans don't prohibit anything that would actually be taught from this. If the loony left in the NEA want to make Republicans' jobs easier and get more Republicans elected, all I can do is  cause yeah, that's the fuckin' teachers union for ya.

^ Sounds like a self own by the NEA. There are too many teachers on the far left that take their cues from liberal arts colleges completely detached from reality. I just wonder if the Republicans can keep this a major issue until November 2022.

From my perspective, CRT is yet another fairly obscure (to the general public) theory/school of thought that’s been blown all out of proportion for political ends by idiots who care nothing for how much damage they cause to society so long as they get to win an election.
    Sound about right?

CRT isn't actually a thing that's taught, but the Right know that their base will never believe that because you'd have to go to absurd lengths to prove otherwise (at least, to idiots like their base), hence this latest bullshit from Tucker "Don't Look At My Yearbook!!" Carlson:

Well, naturally. Private schools, the cameras might record all the sexual abuse. Homeschools, well you'd be cutting into the revenue of reality TV.
