They fucked us out of a trailer yesterday, but now here's a synopsis. Meh. I want a fucking trailer. And a poster.
Han Solo and Lando Calrissian's full unedited testimony before the Galactic Senate subcommittee on Shipping and Trade, concerning the taxation of goods shipped via the Kessel route. Runtime: 188 mins https://t.co/hgmdYFPxUf
No, a trailer-trailer goes like this. Logo *Flicker of a ship you have to pause to see* *Flicker of a character drawing breath to speak, and getting out a vowel sound before the next cut to...* *0.0005 seconds of Chewie starting to growl* *A droid letting out one beep* *A blaster firing* Friday!!!
Or it has 5 seconds of footage from earlier movies. I seem to recall Star Trek: Generations using footage from the TV show.
Well, as lame as the synopsis was, it gets the snowball rolling down the hill. It usually goes synopsis, teaser poster, teaser trailer, a jillion little character posters, full trailer, final poster, second full meaty story trailer, I-Max poster, a jillion little spoiler-y TV spots, movie.
Not necessarily. A "teaser" is just a glorified announcement with possibly a voice over and possibly actual sound track and logo from the film. Generally once you start getting actual footage, you've moved into the "trailer" realm of things.
Teasers vary. The Trek 09' teaser was just some guy working on the Enterprise with a JFK quote in the background. We never actually saw that scene in the movie. GoTG teaser was an actual scene from the movie. TFA teaser was scenes from the movie. Older movies like X-Men would just show wolverine's claws and a logo and release date.
Movieweb's saying we won't see footage until February. Apparently there are reshoots *still* going on, and they want these scenes for the trailer. I'm guessing the final product will bear very little evidence that Lord and Miller were ever involved.
Rumor now is next week Wednesday. That it'll be attached to "Maze Runner 3", Friday, but we'll get it online before that. I'll believe it when I see it. Especially after being fucked twice.
"[Disney is] essentially writing Solo off. The lead actor, Alden Ehrenreich, can’t act, and they had a dialogue coach on hand for all of his scenes. On top of that, the script is unworkable. https://www.gq.com/story/the-next-star-wars-movie-is-going-to-be-a-trainwreck
I have some doubts about the doom-and-gloom prospects. First, Ehrenreich can act. I've seen him do it, and be tremendously successful at it. Maybe he didn't hit the right notes as Han Solo, or maybe he suited Lord and Miller. Whatever the case, they're addressing it. Second, this picture wasn't produced in a vacuum. It's freakin' Star Wars. They probably had multiple levels of committee review on this thing before they ever let loose a penny of money. There's no way--no way--the script is hopelessly unworkable. Third, as for that script: it's been co-written by Lawrence Kasdan, not exactly a hack writer. In fact, I think he wrote the best of the Star Wars movies, The Empire Does Dallas. Fourth, Lucasfilm recognized trouble with the production (albeit a bit late) and took decisive action by replacing Lord and Miller. Fifth, Ron Howard--influential, powerful, respected, talented, Academy Award-winning Ron Howard--agreed to take this on well after Lucasfilm was aware of the trouble signs. Howard would not have agreed to take on the task if there were little possibility for success. Why would he? His career doesn't really need the boost from a Star Wars film, and he'd have much to lose if the film cratered. Sixth, there isn't much recent word of a troubled production. The only trouble I see is that the film is probably well behind schedule for its release date. Seventh, reshoots don't mean much, particularly for big-budget tentpole films. Who knows? It may indeed suck. But let's see some of it before we start worrying.
Whelp, I'll give it 'til suppertime to give up, but it looks like I got hosed gain. Three strikes, they're out. And by "they", I mean "trusted sources".
Whether it sucks or is awesome, SOLO : A STAR WARS STORY is & will be apart of the official canonuity of STAR WARS!
Ant man and Wasp went into production August 2017. Got the trailer today. Production started on Solo in January 2017, Ron Howard took over in June 2017. Still no trailer.
According to ScreenGeek Disney is not only bracing themselves for Solo: A Star Wars Story to be a critical dud but also prepares itself for it being a bomb. Most apparently due to the lead http://boards.theforce.net/threads/...-written-off-solo-a-star-wars-story.50048068/
Trailer date confirmed!!! Next Monday after the Superbowl on Good Morning America. https://www.cbr.com/solo-star-wars-teaser-release-date/
