If they're as brave as the Proud Boys, they'll just take longer vacations to "spend time with family" and sit on their hands and do nothing when they have to be in session.

what better way than to swing the pendulum in the other direction? And with complete control (Kamala Harris as a "tie breaker"?) this is the perfect chance for Democrats to win over hearts & minds. Damn I'm so pumped about the Democrats steeping on their own dicks. Is it 20 January yet?
Like "Big John" McCarthy used to say "are you ready? Are you ready? Let's get it on!"

Does it have something to do with making tea?

Or is winning only winning when it's a Republican?

That, unfortunately, seems to be the case, in all honesty, for a lot of Republicans. If a Republican wins, fine: "We won, you lost, move on!" But if a Democrat wins, it is simply proof that the election was rigged.

How anyone can continue to support that party is beyond me.

It's our primate instinct to be so tribal. Rephrase your question to something like "How anyone can continue to support the Oakland Raiders is beyond me." Once someone identifies with a tribe, team, political party, religion, or any other tribe-like group, it's hard for them to stop identifying with that group even with facts showing why they should not. That, compounded with the Republican's fascist propaganda tactics which feed on those base, primal instincts, and you're basically looking at a cult.

I am good with watching what the republican lite dems do. more and more educated informed people will be voting in future elections. They will see that republican and republican lite are awful ways to exist and go left. Joe needs to just do his thing and fuck things up like only a centrist democrat can do.

It would be nice but I'm not bitter, I'm excited and pumped! To be alive to watch the the US finally get the government they deserve. I feel like Michelle Obama when she said
"for the first time in my life I'm finally proud of my country." I'm overwhelmed by joy. The Democratic party will have complete control, so now as AOC so eloquently put it:
"we won't have to negotiate". The speedbumps on the road to success have been removed. Now the US will be loved and admired by allies and enemies alike - especially our enemies! We are Luke in the movie Cool Hand Luke when the boss man proclaims "Luke finally got his head right". America will be thinking & acting "woke" and properly like the rest of the sane world already does. Now is this what "getting sick of winning" really means! Change my mind!

Any idea of the make up of the Senate now? Democrats are not the majority. Neither are Republicans. There are 50 Republican senators, 48 (if both GA seats go to the Democrats) Democratic senators, and 2 Independents (although, they do caucus with the Democratic Party). Harris will be president of the senate and she will decide who "runs" the senate. Even if both seats went Republican, the Vice President can choose. She will most likely choose a Democrat, but could choose any one she wants. Unlike Congress where there is a Constitutional provision for the House Speaker, there isn't one for the Senate.

The "win" for this election is that McConnell will no longer be able to prevent committees to present bills to the Senate for vote.
