When I was a kid, I can remember places like Nicaragua on the news almost every night because of the Contras and the Sandinistas and the various death squads. You know how many people they killed during that time? Less than 100K. Some estimates put it as low as 50K. That was over a decade. We kill almost as many in a single year. What's the difference between them and us? Their guys were better organized? Or that it for it to match on a per capita basis we'd have to have five million dead from guns in about a decade? Between 2019 and 2022, the number of mass shootings in the US increased by 31%. Unless we do something about guns, we're going to get there. And soon.
Someone shot up a train station in Dallas. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...allas-dart-train-shooting-texas-b2334779.html
Right, because it has been nonstop mass shootings since that amendment was passed. What's that, it actually hasn't?
Until the 50's supreme court defined "well regulated militia" to mean "any twitchy Jethro and Kletus".
Well, yeah, before the 50's, there was the Mafia with their cute little Tommy guns. The G-men figured they weren't a militia, so they killed and arrested them.
And oh, look at that; after Bonny & Clyde were turned into hamburger, they got rid of machine guns in 1934. Then the dumbass Supreme Court struck the law down in 1939, but the Tommy guns were still gone. https://www.npr.org/sections/itsall...-decades-old-gun-ban-thats-still-on-the-books
It comes from a 15 year old reading of the 2nd amendment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia_v._Heller I say this because many of the pro-murder crowd act like 2nd guarantees the right of everyone to a machine gun on demand when this is a VERY new interpretation of the 2nd. It can be interpreted differently.
THEY DID IT!! Texas @momsdemand volunteers and survivors, including Uvalde and Santa Fe families, have been advocating for the Raise the Age bill for weeks and finally - on the last day for this vote - it passed out cold committee. Watch until the end. Text TEXAS to 644-33 https://twitter.com/shannonrwatts/status/1655622711899734016 Lot of steps between being passed out of committee in one chamber and signed by the governor but it is a required one.
We've been through this. Gun violence trends with crime rates. What you're really doing right now is endorsing the heavy-handed "broken window policing" tactics that kept crime rates low. Not MY preferred solution, but whatever floats your boat.
you mean the part that specifically excludes gangs, drugs, and domestic violence directing our focus specifically on when previously law abiding gun owners stop being so? yes, we've been through this schtick of you ignoring facts and reinterpreting them to fit a strawman like "you endorse broken windows policing". and FFS, all you ever talk about is imprisoning poor people.
We have seen this obvious fact before and no one new seems to be being swayed by it. The one thing that seems to have gotten a new level of disgust from the sheeple is the pictures and video of the bodies. Maybe it is time to plaster the bloody carcasses of the normal people all over the TV and make it so all the people who have the death sanitized from the blood so they can disconnect from it are forced to see what supporting people like @Lanzman and every second amendment violent loser gets them. Take their fucking guns and require licensing and legal responsibility for your firearm if it is ever used in a crime even by someone else. If you want to own a gun then you face the consequences if it is used because you say guns do not kill people. If guns do not kill people then you do if your gun kills someone. Ifg you do not like that responsibility then you do not own a gun. It is not a necessity to your life to own one. Until this happens every time you turn on your TV you should have to watch 10 minutes of all the gun carnage of the week. Maybe some of these anti-abortion christian ladies might actually stop clutching their pearls over a tic tac size fetus and become pro-life.
But I've always been told by a really smart person that Tim Pool is liberal. Are you saying my brilliant source is a total dogfood brain who should go jump in a log chipper? How could this be? How could I be so tricked?
