I do find this to be part of the problem. Presidents do this really soft demand for gun control after the shooting. You have this position where you demand the press attention every single day, and you could make a huge issue out of it. Meanwhile you make a hopes and prayers speech and then nothing while you are in power. Then after you are out of power you are all demanding.

Maybe you do a little more than strongly worded letters after you are no longer president. It isn't like these guys didn't have the most powerful seat in the land for over a decade.

The earliest that any of them cut off is 2017, so none of them can be from the 70s, unless you're alleging the information was fraudulently made up decades in advance or were left behind by a careless time traveller.

Those are the only ways your post makes sense, because the only other option is that you took what would be the, let's be honest, horrendously stupid view of not realising that when a graph includes extra historical data for context you can just start looking at it from the relevant time when it crosses over to the time periods covered by other graphs.

All that said, I have just realised that two of them are showing per capita and two of them are showing totals so it's not the best comparison as it doesn't account for shifting US population. Do you still stand by your claim that "We've been through this. Gun violence trends with crime rates."? If so I can find per capita data for all the presented stats, and we should see a clear correlation in trends between them if your claim is correct.
