I didn't say that was literally happening in the trailer. It's just the impression I get from the tone of it. Like it was written by a room full of 90lb Hot Topic rejects who keep illustrated diaries of all the people they would punish if they were someone like Batman.
well yeah... not like it'scomparable middle aged white guys wearing yellow vests and Oakleys beating up anyone who's religion or sexuality they don't like.
Unless they do the riddler like the zodiac killer or BTK I am going with the comical versions of the Riddler. I did not see much in the trailer that shoiws the Riddler in a terrifying light. So the old TV show or Jim Carey's Riddler ends up being better. I will admit I am betting on the odds, but I am not shelling out a dollar to watch Disney's version of a serial killer.
Do you know the odds of it being anothe "The Dark Knight" only with a decent dark Riddler? Batman movies are a lot of meh and shit. Maybe we have one or two worthwhile ones, but they are produced on such a massive scale. Since I was a kid they have been coming out with these things pretty regularly. Is there any other superhero or movie franchise that has been rebooted and redone as much as Batman? It is not even about whether or not this is a good Batman. It is that it is Batman. With the way they beat this, it should be deadhorseman. Really, we have seen this before. These previews are the same godamned thing too. Why is Batman so special?
Does UA have a Greatest Hits thread yet? Because this post is fascinating, in a Rorschach test kind of way.
THOMAS WAYNE (bleeding out in the alley) Little bastard Bruce just had to stay to see if there was an end credits scene...
Three hours of a dude who refused to do any physical training to play Batman. I think I'll wait for it to show up for free on a streaming service.
Bales' look changed dramatically during the shooting of Batman Begins, so much so that they told him to stop working out so much. There's one shot of him with his shirt off, where he's reaching for something and he's just got these gigantic biceps that he doesn't have elsewhere in the film. And depending upon how they tweak the origin story, Pattinson's look could actually work quite well for the role. Instead of being a rich guy who trains himself up before being Batman, he could be a dissipated rich guy who decides to become Batman and then finds out that he needs to train himself up after he narrowly beats the baddies.
I saw a Pattinson quote where he says to the effect that one of the mysteries of the film will be why Batman refuses to kill. Is it because he's morally opposed to killing, or that he knows if he lets himself kill a villain, he'll basically turn into an unstoppable version of Dexter?
