I fell asleep. Could just be because I was dead tired. Tried watching it again while in bed. Slept until the alarm went off. I'll watch it again today cuz now I'm wide awake. But, what I did catch, I liked. Hopefully, this episode was just "setting the scene" and next week will get into the story.
Meh. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. For comparison, we watched the first episode of The Mandalorian right afterward. The difference is pretty stark. Mando knocked it out of the park in its pilot episode.
It didn't feel like a complete episode. Is the whole series going to be shown part present day part flashback? It's one thing to show how he got from the sarlac pit to the Mandalorian...but this is feeling potentially drawn out since the flashbacks are still going. And the present day plot seemed ho hum. I wouldn't make this complaint if I could binge the rest of them instead of waiting week to week probably.
^ Yeah the flashback parts were better than the present day parts It was just ok overall but I’m definitely curious to see where it goes
You think my Chinese lady friends, who know nothing of Star Wars, will appreciate it when I yell like a Tuskin in the bedroom?
Second episode was miles better than the first, now we're cooking I bet him being an honorary Tusken Raider is going to come in real handy around episode 6 or 7
Yep, I'm guessing he's going to get them to help with the Hutt twins. They'll probably be a big showdown at the end.
Ep3 is awesome. Relieved there were minimal flashbacks this time. Loved the solution to the swoop gang conflict and their being more scooter kids/mods than bikers with a couple of design nods to Quadrophenia. The chase scene hit EVERY note. Is it just me, or shouldn't the trap door to the rancor pit be the worst kept secret on the planet?
I thought episode 3 was kind of boring. I don't like his punk rock biker gang. The chase was on point though, it even featured two people carrying a giant painting (normally a sheet of glass) and of course ended with a pile of fruit falling onto the guy's head, classic. This of course has been done in several movies a bunch of times and has been parodied before as well. I think it's in Wayne's World 2 where they point out this trope. I have a feeling the Wookie will be joining Boba.
The robot body parts made it look punk to me. Maybe glam-rock is a better term because one of them had a Bowie type look. I figured the Wookie was from the EU since I don't recognize him from Clone Wars, Rebels or Bad Batch and everyone on YT seems to know who he is.
okay, I guess. Although I think you've conflated "cyber punk", a fiction genre, with punk rock, which is a sub culture. I'm leaning towards quadrophenia because the swoops were notably smaller and less motorcycle like than they were scooters... the mirror thing added to it, along with the couple of them who were trying to dress flashy despite being on Tatooine. as for Black Krrsantan's past...
The girls kind of reminded me of Joan Jett, but you're right about the swoops, it threw me off them being so flashy.
Still unsure where this is going and how it’s going to hook back up with Mandalorian Season 3, Cobb Vance, and the eventual loss of support for the new republic. I think we need more backstory on who Boba is. Last we saw him (outside of “cameo” in ESB), he was an angry child seeking revenge. He was hanging out with some ruthless villains (even though they all betrayed him eventually). What did Jango teach him in those formative years that might have changed him between Clone Wars and climbing out of a scarlacc?
First of all..... Danny (Farriking?) Trejo!!! As soon as I saw this shot I knew it was him, and he had to be in it because of Robert Rodriguez. Trust me, a lot easier to make him out on my TV.
yeah, she did have that pre mullet thing going on JJ was rocking in "Light of Day". I guess it'd make sense because it's kind of only 1987 in Mando/BBF.
I remember Wookie Krrsantan vaguely from somewhere, don't really remember where from, more just how he looked from a comic or something.
