I'm wondering if Foxx's actions might be enough to open a DOJ investigation. To recuse yourself and then after the fact just bury a case, especially a high profile one, is gonna cause a major blow to the publics confidence in the judicial system.

We already know she had to recuse herself because texts were discovered between her and a former Michelle Obama chief-of-staff to try and pass the case off to the FBI. We also know that three days after those texts she did actually try to get CPD to turn the case over to the FBI.

My jabbing @Zombie in the side about his complete hypocrisy aside, the city wants to get some money back and not spend money to jail a person over a crime where the only person who got assaulted was the guy who wanted to for nefarious purposes. 10k and a lost career is pretty good punishment for the actual crime. I know the racists wanted him lynched, but the city had better things to do than to spend more money on a very small crime. Going through the court, appeals, and possible prison time for a celebrity was going to be a lot more money. Not to mention it does show a more reasonable attitude towards black people in a very public incident while I would imagine a lot of other black people have not gotten treated like white people.

Oh, and it has got to pour piss on the trump victory dance. I do happen to wonder if that was part of the plan.

@Zombie should be well aware that normally for a low level crime like disturbing the peace or filing a false police report a first time offender is given this sort of treatment. It is not odd, and it is not white privilege. If you don't have a record the court normally gives what many states call an ACD. If zombie was not such a hateful racist twat he might have known about this. AN ACD is an adjournment with contemplation of dismissal. Basically it happens when you are arraigned and you pay some restitution, they some community service, and if you do not do any other crimes in a certain period of time, like 6 months, the courts dismiss the case.

They were never going to hang him because racist white twats like zombie feel they should punish the evil black man because they like to see them harmed.

It is also not like the normal system where your case gets dismissed and no one ever knows about it. This is all over the news and he lost a lucrative acting job over it and it will be easily searchable for the rest of his life.
