If Biden or his family allegedly committed a crime, why isn't the DOJ involved? Why is a Republican-controlled committee the only body that seems interested in this?

The first link doesn't really go into details about these supposed shell companies and what they are.

Let's break it down:

So this part above alleges that there is a web of companies "to hide" $10 million in payment from foreigners. Where is the evidence that the intention was to hide the payments? And assuming that it was to "hide" the reason for that? Is there an attempt to explain this supposed complicated web of companies or explain what makes it suspicious? I'm guessing there's not.

Let's also point out what this says: foreign nationals in China -- not the Chinese government -- and corruption-riddled Romania -- again, not the Romanian government.

Many of the transactions took place while Biden was vice-president. But is there a hint of a quid pro quo? No. Or at least nothing the article says.

So even within the allegation, it's the Chinese nationals and the companies who worked to conceal the sources of the money. The Bidens didn't set up the LLCs, taking this on face value. Is there evidence that the Bidens knew about the supposed complicated web of companies or are complicit in concealing the sources of the money? If there is, I'm guessing this article doesn't have the goods.

Now it seems it is switching gears by calling them "Biden family LLCs." It seems like either the paper or the Republicans should be able to specify details of what these LLCs are and to provide records of why they are allegedly shady.

Again, maybe this is just bad investigating/reporting, or maybe there is no there there.

I'm guessing that Biden's statements were more nuanced than this article would have it seem. But also, from the photo associated with the article, Chinese nationals dealt with a business partner of Hunter and other Bidens, who then paid Hunter and other Bidens. That is at least a couple steps removed from China paid Hunter and other Bidens, which is itself steps removed from China paid Hunter and other Bidens to act in Chinese interests, and Joe Biden actually did.

It is actually very conceivable President Biden had no idea what his son and other family members were doing in their business. First there's the ordinary notion that Person A doesn't always know what Person B is doing. Hell, within a business, often the right hand doesn't know what the left hand was doing. Second, the very fact that there's supposedly a complicated web of LLCs means that the President might not have known about the particulars. Third, Hunter Biden etc. could have deliberately kept President Biden in the dark. Fourth, one can't maintain that President Biden is a doddering fool with diminished mental capacity when it's convenient to claim that and simultaneously maintain that he's knowledgeable about the ins and outs of his son's financial activity when it is convenient to do that.

Well it doesn't seem like it is that hard to get the answer to such a question, if you have subpoena power. You can continue to subpoena the business records of the Bidens or their business partners, or you can have them testify and ask them.

But I suspect they haven't done this because it is beneficial to pretend like these questions haven't been answered and thus have a whiff of impropriety than to get an answer "We paid Hunter Biden for X/Y/Z" and have no real response to that.

Again, it should be pretty easy to connect the dots as to how the deals supposedly put national security at risk if it in fact did.

Again, the notion that President Biden took a bribe himself is worthy of investigation. But where is the evidence?

I should add that the second link doesn't provide any details about what it says were 17 shell companies.

 

Also... if you understand anything about finance, there's nothing inherently suspicious about setting up multiple LLCs/trusts/accounts. That may seem crazy to some folks who live paycheque to paycheque, but not for folks who are wealthy and/or do a lot of international business. Also, how many family members are we talking about? 20 LLCs/accounts for 10 or more people is no big deal.

I used to do some work in the U.S. and a few other countries, and had accounts set up at local financial institutions to facilitate payments/transactions. I found it a lot easier to deal in local currency especially since the Canadian dollar isn't widely accepted and continues to be pretty weak in terms of the exchange rates. I also had corporations set up in each jurisdiction where I worked, where I was the sole shareholder. Nothing suspicious or sketchy about it, and the tax authorities knew about every account/company I had.

But again, it takes only a marginal knowledge of business/finance and personal estate planning to figure all that out.

Fucking dumbass I have multiple LLCs and I am not money laundering. I am just using the legal opportunities provided by the corporate politicians to invest in businesses I run. It is not my fault they have not started making money yet, but someday I will pay taxes like your heroes Elon and Donald Trump.

The problems are it is legal and everyone else is doing it. The idea that it is only biden doing it is laughable. It is like going after Disney for having their own district where they set up the rules when there are thousands of similar districts in florida doing the same thing including the villages which is trump central right next to Disney.

Yes, it should really be illegal the way those worthless Biden kids were given millions and millions just for being Biden's children. Of course it effects his actions, and it is the only reason why you would pay a Biden child more than the minimum wage a college graduate gets right out of school. All those LLCs are there to launder money and hide money so they do not pay taxes on their income because it is investment in businesses that pay their expenses and amortize their losses.

It is all legal. You could do it too. The only difference between you and them is that when you do it you get audited because they can see you do not have the money for a good lawyer or fancy accountant to bury them in challenges and paperwork.

The reason this is a joke is not because Biden is a pure and good man. It is because it is only Biden the other criminals are looking at and people like the boy whine about witch hunts when it happens to a republican.

I am all for hitting Biden on this, but hit trump and his kids too. While we are at it let us go after every member of congress, and SCOTUS too for doing the exact same things.
