I will be very disappointed if Meadows does no prison time. Best person to implicate Trump or not, he was up to his eyeballs in J6 plotting, and he should be punished for it.

He certainly deserves it, I concur. And what was said in the article was 'limited immunity', so if that turns out to be true he probably is looking at some time.

That being said, if you had to let Meadows walk to get Trump I'd be 100% for it. Because Meadows is not in any way, shape or form capable of making this happen again. Trump could be re-elected and if he is, he won't leave as easily as Jan 6th, and that was the worse treason by a POTUS in US history.

Like Judge Napalitano called last summer, you don't need intent for the Espionage Act.

So what's the next move, drag this out until after the RNC convention then drop the charges if Trump doesn't get the nomination?

The next move is whatever the law indicates the next move is.

Just because Trump and his cronies are corrupt as fuck doesn't mean everyone else is.

Yes but, with a former President, I think the bar will be higher. At least if I were Jack Smith I would want to be able to show proof that those documents were seen by the wrong eyes and/or ended up in the wrong hands. :spock:

The reason, I think, they chose the Espionage Act is because they don’t need intent. Remember, that was the reason Comey didn’t charge Hillary was because he didn’t find intent. They can also use this excuse later on when Republicans bring up the documents Biden had. This is all calculated.

For those who disagree, keep the following quote in mind.

“Show me a man that gets rich by being a politician, and I'll show you a crook.”

It requires willful failure to turn over the documents on demand. They can prove that easily for Trump, not at all for Biden or Pence.

The question that needs to be answered is, if the indictment does involve 18 U.S. Code § 793 as some media outlets are suggesting, what the fuck did Trump want with classified defense documents, and why did he not return them when asked?

    What's next?

Well, the Special Counsel is still investigating the January 6th insurrection. And as some of the players are the same he's got real ammo to hang on those that don't cooperate. We'll see indictments on that as well.

The only question is will that come in before or after the indictments for Trump attempting to interfere in the Georgia election.

And there are lots of high ranking Republicans involved in both.

Best case scenario, he wanted them to humiliate someone, maybe General Miley. Worst case, he was selling them to the Saudis or Russians.

I thought they would never indict him. Unless they Epstein him he will air all of their secrets he stole to keep out of jail. I hope the little badger stole a lot.

I will say I was wrong. It was harder than pulling teeth from a shark with tweezers, but the justice department actually has made a step in the right direction.
