I feel like there's either an incredibly obvious joke here that I'm not getting, or it's a reference to something that I missed.

It settled down with a spent piece of used jet trash and now sells used office furniture on the San Fernando Rd.

I find the speed sign display on my Mazda useful for the most part, but no way in hell would I activate the auto-limiter. It's occasionally misread the signs on side roads as being the main road limit. Hell, just today it spent 20 miles of the M54 thinking the limit was 40mph (it's 70mph) because it saw one 40 sign off to the left and then no other signs (because everyone KNOWS a motorway has a limit of 70) till I hit a junction.

You can set the car to limit the speed to the posted amount. Whilst tricking Teslas into speeding up is dangerous, so would be my car suddenly braking to 40mph in a 70mph area.

Or we just dispense with all the automated shit and...ya know....just drive the cars ourselves the way we did for decades before all the gee-wiz technology.

I will say the few occasions I've played with the radar-guided cruise control it's seemed pretty good. You can set it at 50mph but if the car in front is only doing 45 the car will slow and maintain a set distance. If no cars are near enough in front, it goes with whatever you set.

Nifty, but I prefer not to use cruise control as it's one less thing to occupy me mentally while driving alone (same reason I don't buy automatics - though if I ever get an electric car I'll have no choice). Too easy to zone out on motorways. I use it for long stretches of low speed limit or the occasional motorway "average speed zone" (usually enough going on there to keep me alert).

One of my cars (the one that isn't over 20 years old and getting close to half a million kilometres...) has that, and I absolutely love it for motorway driving.

For regular roads, it has a "speed limiter" that you can set so the car speeds up and slows down under your own control, except that it won't go over whatever top speed you set. That's very handy for places where you need to change your speed a lot (curves, hills, lots of traffic...) but don't want to "forget yourself" and end up going too fast when you pass a radar camera.

Yes, mine has the latter as well, plus the "limit me to the posted speed" function. And a "bong at me if I go Xmph over the limit" option. Sadly, this last has changed in my new car (both Mazdas, just updated) - the old one had up to 10mph over the limit and the bong was intermittent. This one is max 5mph over the limit and continuous. Good thing I disabled THAT before the 10 mile stretch of M54 with the car saying the limit was 40...

My 2016 Flex has a feature where it will maintain a certain distance (adjustable by you) behind the vehicle in front of you. So you can set the cruise control and don’t have to worry about folks in front slowing down for a moment or two.

If he's playing a sociopath or ignorant European or something, sure, stick him in a Yankees cap, but I suspect Affleck doesn't get that kind of role often.

Mets are just as bad, btw
