Nope. While I know of a few, I'm doing this more as a form of future proofing. I'm doing this to prevent people from leaving because of posters like him.

So John agrees with Republicans, "we can't show any voter fraud is happening but to discourage it we need to make it harder for certain people to vote". You cannot point to anyone run off by GT but you want to make sure all of his posts get moved to a black hole. You also cannot explain why the existing ignore feature doesn't solve the problem but you still really, really, really want a new forum to be used against your supposed enemies.

That's not at all similar to this situation. gturner actively derails threads. People are becoming turned off the notion of posting in the Red Room. You want an example? Fine, me. I find it frustrating that I can't even have a conversation or debate without threads being derailed. I know I'm not alone in that, either.

A way long time ago in my ENT shipper days at TBBS, we had a shipper there (one @Captain X can confirm as well) who only remained there to piss in everyone's cheerios after she lost the shipping war, starting passive aggressive bullshit about Trip being dead as a doorknob and suggesting that the Vulcan hybrid kid was better off dead, pissing off many of the women who have struggled to have children of their own. She wasn't as brazen as Dayton to announce she was using rules against us, but we knew the fucking game. But because her Enterpriser game was top notch she was allowed to stick around while poster after poster stormed off. No shit, she is part of the reason I followed Stewey here after his ban.

The fact is, people like her *do* poison the joint. WF has been far more flexible than most boards but when the staff is getting PMs about this, then it's time to do something. We probably should've done something ages ago.

The thought to ban you has never occurred to me. Seriously. Disagreement is disagreement. You and I have had great conversations every so often, and even when we haven't, when we've disagreed vehemently, you've contributed to the board. People like @gturner do not contribute, they constantly live only to piss in everyone's cheerios, as @Anna mentions.

What happens when gturner gets going? When he really starts some shit? He gets dozens of other posters involved. You have him on ignore, but your posts go unnoticed because everyone has been drawn to the dumpster fire in the thread. Another thread derailed successfully.

gturner can be quite funny sometimes. He's hardly the bad apple you make him out to be.
