I was once the target of the staff for speaking up against abuse and unfair targeting of Faceman. Elwood banned a guy who never had a single warning here because he got involved with his ex-girlfriend. The board may or may not have been stolen away from one of the previous owners.

When this gets used as a partisan weapon just remember I told you so. When there are no new posters because no one has actually been run off remember I told you so. When there is even less posting in the red room and people drift off because there is even less activity remember I told you so.

But at least you will have John and Gul being smug about boxing everyone they dislike so I guess there will at least be that. This is a partisan weapon and nothing more to silence differing viewpoints and even you know it.

Dude, I actually post at TBBS these days, and the consensus there is that it's mostly pond scum here. I can't say I blame them for that image when.its mostly their rejects that show up here to bitch about T'Bonz after she showed them the door.

Yeah, the people who came here in the beginning did so because they rejected TBBS. With few exceptions, the only people who come here from there now are the ones rejected by TBBS.

It's not solely for @gturner. It's for anyone who can't stop bickering with another poster (or posters) to the point where they manage to derail a thread. For example, you and I are debating the choices for Donald Trump's cabinet. While we're debating over the finer points of politics and insulting one another's lineage, garamet and flashlight start bickering in the middle of the thread, and other people start joining in. You know how these things get on Wordforge, we've seen it a thousand times. A 200 post thread ends up having 9 posts devoted to the topic, and 191 posts where the posters in that thread are arguing over two posters instead of talking about the topic. If you were a new poster, or didn't visit that often, would such a thing encourage you to post? You could place both flashlight and garamet on ignore, but what about the others? If you place them on ignore, soon you won't have anyone to talk to. You ask the moderators to do something, but technically, flashy and garamet aren't breaking the rules. What now? You're stuck. You either tolerate it, or find another place where this kind of thing is less common.

So what if, instead, garamet and flashy are told to take it to the Violet Room, and if they don't, they'll get warned. They go, and your discussion is back on track. Is it 100% foolproof? No, nothing is, but it's an improvement over the system we have now, which is essentially nothing.

I remember when they found out I not only posted here, but am an admin here. It was like finding out Mr. Rogers was into BDSM.

To the first half of your question, I can say that if I knew that, I'd be a millionaire by playing the lottery. I can guess you've never managed a message board, if you can ask questions like that. There's no way to know how well something will work unless it's had time to deploy, and time to allow for new members to find this place. As to the second half of your question, this isn't the time for questions that have no basis in reality. If I honestly, truly wanted you gone, do you think you would be here?

I know I plan to reach out to the Forgers that have left. Many moved on for other reasons, but if we can get people to stick around and check it out, then we all win.
