Couple that with Trump's lame-ass excuse of "I was inspecting the bunker" and you have the perfect foil. Had he simply said that it was protocol and he was doing what his SS detail thought was best, it wouldn't have been quite the issue that it is now. Though, if I'm not mistaken, Abraham Lincoln did step out and address an angry mob at one point in his Presidency (if it wasn't Lincoln, it was another President). Not saying that doing something like that is practical (or even advisable) in the 21st Century, just that in times of civil unrest it hasn't always been policy for the President to be hidden away.

I like that they seem to be falling backwards. I don't like that it took two guys dressed like Robocop to arrest this calm, peaceful example of protest. If anyone doubts the militarisation of the police, these guys are wearing more stuff than Tony Stark.
