    My current account of concessions:

    US
. Halt to military exercises in Korea
. Giving Kim an audience with the US president

    NK
    . Vague promises about de-nuclearization

WTF is up with the American flags? Maybe it's just the contrast dialed up to 11, but it looks like the blue and especially the red match the NK flag's. They're supposed to be darker.

They look to be getting blasted with light to me and may be “shining” a bit from that.

I find the sentiment in that video compelling, but the context makes it a little silly.

Donald Trump has agreed to lift sanctions on North Korea, claims nation’s state media

Donald Trump agreed to lift sanctions against North Korea along with providing it with security guarantees, the nation’s state news agency has claimed.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), which also reported Kim Jong-un had accepted an invitation to visit the White House, said Mr Trump had indicated he would lift sanctions along with ending military exercises with South Korea.

There was no independent confirmation of the claim and no immediate comment from the White House. On Tuesday, while Mr Trump had indicated he wanted to end “very provocative” war games, he said that sanctions would remain in place to exert “tremendous pressure”.

True, and yet a Doomsday Clock (a la "Watchmen") would likely have ticked backwards from where it was when NK was lobbing missiles over Japan.

Funny how Iran has both promised and done so much more, but that doesn't count because the black guy made it happen. :borg:

Actually I no longer like Trump, since although sales have grown in a high-confidence economy, wages are rising too much in a tight labor market. Snerk.

Yeah, sure, you betcha, bribe Iran with hundreds of millions and see it go on to fund global-terrorism, that was a good deal Congress was wrong to refuse. [And just imagine if Obama's peeps had told Congress the truth about the Iran deal instead of the lies.]

You mean letting Iran have their own money back? It's hard to take you as seriously when you and Federal Farmer are repeating the same tired Fox News talking points.

What are wages supposed to do in a tight labor market?
Okay, help me out here. Obama's deal with iran gets outside inspectors in the country to make sure that iran is holding up their end of the bargain. Where does Trump's deal with North Korea get the same thing?

Oh, I'd agree it's more likely than not that NK's playing the US, and said as much weeks ago in agreement with Rob's comments. But there *are* possibilities, and I recall very similar pessimism in late 80s. Remarkably similar. Right down to the noisome task of treating with evil bloody tyrants.

As to Iran "deal" wrong thread, and now is moot point anyway. There's nothing to be gained in restating competing povs; it's over atm, and youz lost. And imo the US has benefited much more than suffered from the repudiation.

The bottom line is (I may be wrong) but nobody on the left wants Trump to be successful. That would blow their agenda out of the water. That would steal their thunder.
No...possible...way somebody who doesn't walk the left's party line could pull this off. Only they have the technical abilities & proper moral compass to make a positive difference in the world. :drama:
Personally I am cautiously optimistic. And I don't care who liberates the people of North Korea - I would love to see it happen regardless.

Blah-blah-blah. Perhaps you can explain why you feel a slumlord and a multiple bankrupt who owes anyone who's ever worked for him hundreds of thousands in unpaid invoices is your Big Damn Hero.

    Take your time.

Later you can address his sexual history, his general crudeness, the Russian allegations, and his assumption that being President means you can play golf 24/7.

Again, tell us what you admire about him and let's go from there.

Or you can just tell us what you believe he's accomplished on his trip to meet one of the few world leaders who's more of a scumbag than he is.

    And....go!

It seems Trump meeting Kim is causing as big a meltdown among the leftists as the day he won the election.

What I find shocking is how many among the left want to see him fail. How many want to see war. Can you really be that spiteful? :jayzus:
