Aunt Alice is having conniption fits. She hates spending money on those who she considers unworthy, but what if spending money now actually costs less in the long run? Does that offset the orgasmic joy of shitting on poor people out of a sense of moral superiority?

This does not correlate as much to UBI as reparations. In this situation the general cap of living expenses may have remained the same because most people were not given the 4k benefit which made the native people more able to climb out of poverty. In a competitive world where money is an advantage you might decrease the effects by giving everyone money without capping costs. The white people would still be able to outspend the native population and since they already had advantages as opposed to more disadvantages you might niot have changed anything.

However, this does seem to show that overall a population might be helped by reparations and the idea they qwould just spend the money over time on spinning rims and drugs does not hold true.
