Lay out the idea for what your dream game would look like, the gameplay and anything else important to the games status as your dream game. I'll flesh one out sometime later on this week, my comp access is very limited.
Star wars open universe game, Like morrowind/oblivion, except much bigger, many planets, spaceships, space stations, ports, atmo re-entry, and about 6 billion hours of possible gameplay Kind of like X3 mixed with morrowind/oblivion mixed with KOTOR mixed with GTA, but better
I think that's called Star Wars Galaxies, except it's not single player. I think a good Star Trek MMO would rock.. but when one is released, I'm not expecting it to be very good.
Take Planescape: Torment, fix the bugs that remain after the patch and the fix pack, give an overhaul to the interface concentrating on making the journal more usable, add more unlawful and evil quests and quest solutions, and you're pretty much there, at least on the days where I'm feeling like indulging in something somewhat towards the adventure end of the RPG spectrum.
Sod MMO's i dont like online gaming people. Most people on those things are either way too good and screw you over or completely useless
A new "Magic Carpet". They'd probably update the graphics past the point of usefulness (and include the spiders that were apparently in the second version *shudder*), but maybe the griffin would finally look properly regal. The AI might be complicated a little further as well, so people like me couldn't toy with it so easily . Oh, and maybe nowadays shots don't have to be fired from the center of mass? That would be nice, cuz it is a little silly for the wyverns to have machine guns in their tummies. Just little things, really, aside from the ability to play the game on modern operating systems. Which is really huge. Oh, more control over one's altitude would be nice too.
marvel Vs. DC, with two modes of play, an "Ultimate Alliance" style story mode, and a Marvel Vs. Capcom fighter mode. I can deam
Then you obviously don't have enough experience with them. Or you're too anti-social and don't play well with others. You can avoid people that suck though, it's not hard. Most people can only have so much fun interacting with dumb AI.
LOST the RPG would be fun I guess. Not some crappy money making thingy, a real, dynamic world with unlimited replayability reacting to your actions. What I'd like to see is game developers stopping to push better and better graphics but make the worlds more interesting, interactive and dynamic. There are some fine starts - SIMS, ELDER SCROLLS - but they all have their limits. I'm thinking WoW for single players where all the players in the real deal are NPCs that interact independently and react to the player's actions.
Umm i have some. Ive played WoW, diablo 2 and been a long time beta tester for Eve online before its release i play fine with smart people with common sense who know what they are doing when its almost everyone, its not that easy Most of the time the worst kind of AI can be relied upon more than over excited teenagers and uber geeks
I am not too worried about it, if any of us here had to sue for intellectual property rights we have the time and date of our posts stamped in the server and can use that in lieu of a copyright. It is like if you ever have comic or tv show idea you want to show to some company, always make a photocopy (or a few) of the original and hand those out while you self address an envelope and mail the original to yourself, never open it and use the post mark as proof you had the idea first.
Personally, I want to see a game that would be next to impossible to make- at least current technology could not run it. First, it will be a global sandbox game, based on accurate maps of this planet. It will have to contain a poppulus based around the most recent census and estimations would have to be made for parts of the planet that have no census. The game will play from to viewpoints- first person and third person with multiple zoom levels. The AI in the game would have to be the single most advanced AI ever created, so good in fact that it would be a nearly flawless copy of an average human. Then there would have to be alternative AI sets, for different personalities and intentions. Animals will also have to be set in the world, with AI programs based around their relative intelligence. The game at this point would resemble a virtual living breathing copy of Earth, and that is just the core. At the beginning you desgin your character, or choose to be a member of a pre-existing family, or you can choose to play yourself at your age of the last census (boring, I think I'd be 14 going on 15). After you, and any family members you created are entered into the games hard drive you then have the option of playing the game under different parameters- Life, Zombie Outbreak, War, Post Appocalyptic, etc. etc. In life it would be like the sims, only more realistic. Zombie Outbreak starts out just like Life and slowly but surely you'll notice signs of the Outbreak in your area, or on the in game radio or television. The beauty is, at the beggining of the mode anywhere from 1 dozen to 1000 individuals in the world are selected to have the virus and if you are active enough to seek out individuals with symptoms and can kill them you can prolong the inevitable outbreak in your area. War starts out like Life, and then can take place in a few different ways: if you created a character who had a job as a soldier you could theoretically be sent to war, or if you are a citizen the war could come to your turf and force you into fighting for your life. The game itself wouldn't be about killing the most "bad guys" but surviving long enough to escape your current situation. Post Appocalyptic could be one of the modes achieved naturally by playing through War to the end of the scenario. The game mode is a bit fuzzy, but could entail many things and the core idea is to stay alive. All of that and more, with possible downloadable content and I would never play another videogame again. I would also pay $1000 USD to play it.
lol. Thought so. "I'm better than everyone else" attitude. You're right, it's best you stay away from MMOs.
Personally, I'd like to see a Final Fantasy MMO set in the world of Ivalice or the world from FFVIII. Another dream would be to somehow combine the worlds of WoW and FF11. So you can travel from a WoW continent to the FF11 one and back.
Agree absolutely - though we are getting the next best thing, Fallout 3, with Liam Neeson playing the lead character. But yeah, I'm reading through the White Wolf Gamma World and the Darwin's World RPGs right now.... great stuff.
Well yes, for exact ideas, but you can't claim ownership to a general idea so if you come up with a good one it's worth keeping close to your chest.
Some sort of dynamic storlyline. And some emotional involvement. Think Deus Ex crossed with Ico crossed with Civ 4.
1. A Firefly game....series of games actually with stories by Joss himself which not only provide good gameplay, but also add to the universe. 2. A Star Trek TOS game that's NOT a space combat game. 3. an Army of Darkness game.
