It used to be that you had to have 50 posts before you could see it. That's probably still the case. I think because it is meant to have lighter moderation, they want to be sure spambots don't have access.
Some observations: That Robert Maxwell guy does not seem very well informed but sure does like screaming about topics with righteous indignation if anyone dares say anything other than the current position he read on Daily Kos. Also who is Garak? Is that Ten Lubak?
Honestly the only thing I halfway miss is the art forum. I would say I miss some of the folks at the ENT forum, but I'm a member at other forums they are a part of, even if these places are basically dead now anyway.
Wordforge.net is my second ever forum that I've joined. First is forum.xda-developers.com. There's so much to learn.
My first one was Subspace Comms Network. Got banned from there following a bitchfit that basically amounted to basically feeling like I'd been declared "the other" over not liking the new Abrams Trek movie, though to be fair I had a history of getting caught up in political discussion flamewars and the like - basically the same stuff I do here, except there I got temp banned for it a few times. Well, I've probably mellowed some since then. On a positive note, they lifted what was supposed to be a permanent ban. The downside is that SCN is suffering from the same lack of activity every other board is suffering from. I think it took me an hour to catch up on all the new posts made since my ban ... in 2009.
While we are on the topic that Karzak guy, what is his deal? All he seems to do is post gif pictures of memes he has taken off of the internet most of which are simplistic and discredited by both left and right. He also seems to have a love of strawman arguments trying to distort people's positions and claiming they said things they did not. Do the people who want congenial and fact based debate just ignore him or is he more of the standard at that place?
