TrekBBS got boring a decade ago. That's when the Trek fandom kinda died. Actually it's pretty boring here too but I kinda can't help myself from coming back over and over and over.

I got given a link to this place by Sultan Bergesh on another website that was so left wing I was considered too conservative. He said this place might be a better fit for me.
The question is, why do you care? This place is not the end all and be all of life. These people have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not your bills get paid, doesn't have anything to do with loving someone or being loved, they can't improve or deteriorate your health. This board is ... standing around the water cooler at work. It's entertainment when you have nothing else to do. This has absolutely nothing to do with your real life, so don't try to use your real life to prove the members of this board should like or respect you. If you want to ... Alright, @Jenee, I disagree. Whatever Dayton's political beliefs may be, and however much of a clown he is, he deserves the same level of integrity as anyone else on this board. This is the only way we can maintain an open discourse. If people were to fuck me over to the extent Dayton has been fucked over, for - well - being a Leninist? - I'd leave this place, but clearly, he is invested, and if we follow basic rules of conduct, there is no reason he shouldn't be. Violating the rules by posting off-board information in this manner is bad, but I have a certain amount of sympathy for him in this matter. If I understand things correctly - and please do correct me if I'm wrong, because I haven't followed the decade-long Dayton drama, since I am not invested or involved - then the grayzone behavior of some posters has actually hurt his personal life. This can't stand, not for a board that prides itself on open debate. Dayton shouldn't have to change his ideology in order to avoid real life attacks. So you get your first "disagree" from me, and if you can show me how I am mistaken, I will revoke it.

Nobody has done anything to Dayton in real life. Pretty much everything you've missed by ignoring it for ten years revolves around things he says here or said at TrekBBS, and people responding to it.
Dayton has not been harmed by anyone here IRL. *Someone* allegedly contacted a school where he once worked, but there's never been proof that the person who supposedly did it was or is a Wordforge poster.
Well hell, nobody can figure out who NotDayton is, so I reckon it would be pretty hard to figure out if someone from here made a call.
Dayton has spent nearly fifteen years splashing every detail of his personal life all over the internet. He has no concept of risk or privacy. Plus, he's an idiot.
