1) I have no idea what a "partial Jew" is.

2) There is one hell of a difference between saying someone is a "Jew" and an "observant Jew". Vast numbers of people who are referred to as "Jewish" are because they were born into a Jewish extended family. They give no special regard to it one way or the other.

Calling vast numbers of these people "Jewish" would be the same as labeling Gene Roddenberry a fundamentalist Christian protestant due to his family background. And we know that isn't true.

3) The biggest factor here is......geography. American Jews are concentrated in the Northeast. The centers of U.S. finance and business are located in the Northeast. Naturally Americans with a Jewish background are going to be concentrated in those economic sectors.

Also, Jews in the U.S. have traditionally been dwellers of urban centers. Professionals from urban centers will tend to concentrate in businesses that do NOT require large scale land ownership. Thus finance, business, entertainment, et cetera.
