The ink isn't dry yet about the soldier fatally shooting the burglar, and this just in: A female burglar shot by homeowner! :salute:
This makes 3 so far this week. On old woman shot one with a .357 (not fatal), soldier boy from yesterday (very fatal) and now a female burglar shot (not fatal). All three demonstrate using a gun responsibly by law-abiding citizens to thwart crime. Imagine that.
Georgia has a "Castle Law" which states you can use neccessary/deadly force to defend your home. :salute: My God, the humanity! Something like this could spread throughout the country! A few dozen more shot, and robbers might actually think "I could die....I better not do this in Augusta."

Worst case (and most likely) scenario is the robbers still don't give a shit and continue to get shot...which is okay too IMO.

Of course, while people have a right to defend themselves and their property, immediately jumping to your gun to solve the problem isnt the answer.

    Anyone else remember Jerikos thread?

No way...I don't have shit to steal. And the junk people want to charge me an arm and a leg to take it away, so I'm not passing up a bargain.

Actually in my subdivision break-ins are pretty rare. There are several convenience stores down the road, so the robbers would rather hit those anyway.

Nonetheless, I catch someone in my house with intent/ability to do harm, I'll quickly go into "don't give a fuck" mode with whatever weapons I can improvise the best I can. I have free medical and a good life insurance policy, so what have I got to lose? I'll die doing something I love to do, which is fine by me.

Ahh, the humiliation. Not only are they busted, but they get to go to court with gunshot wounds as well. Maybe it'll give 'em some 'cred' when they hit the slammer.

The only downside is that as soon as they're let out, they'll be right back at it. Shoot to kill, and you save the taxpayers and future victims a lot of money and hassle.

No, long before they get out they find a sleez lawyer and sue you for shooting them in your own house. It's frickin' pathetic.

No doubt the vast majority will be at it again when they get released from prison. Doubtful any will come back from the grave, though.

    84-year-old man shoots would-be burglar
By Greg Gelpi | Staff Writer

A woman who tried to burglarize a backyard storage building Friday morning was shot by the homeowner, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
Frank Sams, 84, of the 2100 block of Grand Boulevard, fired one shot from his .38-caliber handgun, striking the unidentified woman once in the left side of the neck, Investigator Lt. Jimmy Young said. The incident occurred at shortly before 3 a.m.
    storyPhotos();
The woman was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics in critical condition, underwent surgery and is stable, Lt. Young said.
Mr. Sams hasn't been charged, he said. Mr. Sams, who had been victimized by earlier break-ins, decided to sit on his back steps and wait for the burglars to return.
It was the third time in less than two weeks that would-be burglars have been shot by potential victims.

Just make sure when in that area to never, ever take a leak in someones backyard or behind their garage.

You will be shot as soon as you start to piss.

Not common but it happens. Down there you have Trespassers Will Be Shot in effect.

So any jamoke who might wander into a yard has the chance of getting his head blown off.

When I was young we would often cut through yards at night. Ya know, short cuts.

I would not shoot a guy trying to break into my garage. I might throw some shots in his direction to scare him off.

I would not be trying to kill him.

That old man almost blew her head off. :jayzus:
