these people were shot before they broke into anything. the soldier was just lucky it was the same guy.

Nobody seems to have a comment about the old guy that sat in his yard waiting. :jayzus:

Sorry but i gotta say it..

    White people. :jayzus:

In NYC, most young people are not thinking about buying cars at a young age. plus for most its 18 yrs of age to drive over here. Some areas allow 17 yr olds. But insurance is through the roof.

When I was in HS, I never saw a kid with a car in the city HS. They would never drive it to school if they have any sense. The schools have almost no parking provided.

Don't know how it is in your 'hood, Mewa, but unless you've been drinking heavily at my house and by my invite, peeing in my yard is an invitation to have a bokken broken over your fucking head. My yard isn't your fucking chamberpot.

    What's the alternative, Mewa?

    1. Sit inside his house and miss everything as he's burgled yet again.

    2. Shout and scare her off, at which point she returns at a later time when he's not around, and he's burgled yet again.

Ao it seems that unless you want to submit to being burgled at the burglar's convenience, you'd better do something to stop them. The cops aren't going to sit guard on your shed 24/7. Why the fuck do you think there were shepherds and sheepdogs in the old days?

I commented. I woulda done the same fucking thing. Obviously filing police reports wasn't a deterrant. You would have him continue tolerating the burglaries rather than risk hurting the burglar, because you know damned well if he just yells at them they'll come back when he's not around. He took action to defend what's his with a total disregard for the safety of thieving assholes with no claim to safety. I say good on him.

How bout adjusting security measures. Motion detector lights, which are not expensive.

So he kills this crook and that means it will never happen again.

How bout not demanding he do anything special to accommodate thieving pieces of shit?

If you kill a burglar, that person will never break into your house again. Undeniable.

You're not too smart are you?

You lock your car at night right?

Most people will take extra measure to safeguard their property. like bars on basement windows, home alarm, exterior lights, etc.

    And then there is insurance.

Why should he spend his beer money on that shit to protect the life of a fucking crook? He already has what he needs- a loaded roscoe. And he used it to great effect.

    Nope. :discuss:

If I did, would it finally be OK with you if I shot someone trying to break into it? :garamet:

And when those things fail? Accept defeat? Surrender your belongings and tolerate repeated burglaries?

I see. So since I have renter's insurance, I have no right to threaten the life of the guy I catch in my living room in the middle of the night with my stereo? FUCK that, he's going down.

i don't think you get where I'm coming from. I'm against shooting them BEFORE they have done anything. Shooting them when they are merely approching. Shooting them when there is no direct physical threat to yourself.

I'm against laying in wait to basicly kill someone.

He's over 80 frickin' years old! Whad do you want him to do, go hand to hand? I'm not so sure even Jack LaLane could handle that order.

You want the burglar to be given a fair, fighting chance, when they have absolutely no expectation of it. By trespassing, breaking and entering, they have done something wrong, and I should not be expected to wait until he does something else to neutralize him.

Finally, since I view burglars with such extreme prejudice, you might say I'm always laying in wait. The always have the option of finding a new line of work.

Your suggestions also don't include solving the problem. You would basically have the old guy just continue to put up with it.

Trespassing is not a killing offense. Dude just on the property doesn't require killing.

Now if they have BROKEN and ENTERED, then yes, all bets are off.

If the mug is just in the yard. You are armed and can see him then whats the problem with confronting the guy. "Hey you, get the hell outta here!" and then one or two shots into the ground near him.

Do you think he will still approch you?
