In the new tape, he pretends he wants evidence, but in other recordings we heard before, he admits there was no evidence.
So, he wanted a bullshit commission on fake evidence, or none at all, to overturn the election.
He's caught plotting the whole thing.

So, we've got the blueprint of what the endgame was.
His bullshit commission never came together, and we had the violent rednecks instead.
It still probably would have been a more cartoony show trial version of his plan after the rednecks had killed Pence.
