Liverpool travel to Chelsea this afternoon, for a massive Champions League match. In the US, you can watch this match online, at http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/espn360/index starting at 2:30 eastern time. -- Liverpool - Barcelona March 6, 2007 [YT="You'll Never Walk Alone"]Y7xvegPH_Lw[/YT]
Awesome, awesome game. Well done to Chelski, bad luck Liverpool. That was one of the best european games I've ever seen.
What a game, could hardly breathe at times! Liverpool were so unlucky, what a tremendous effiort. As for Chelsea...fuck off you dirty rent boy twats! Where would they be without their Russian pimp and his billions of rubles? Plastic piece of shit club, hope Barca slaughter them in the next round! Yes, I am bitter...
Barcelona have won 6-2, at Real Madrid. Manchester United are at Arsenal on Tuesday night. Barcelona travel to Chelsea on Wednesday night. I expect to see Barcelona and Manchester United in the Champions League Final, May 27, in Rome. Wolves and Birmingham have won promotion to the Premier League. Norwich, Southampton and Charlton are down to League One. Ricky Hatton is sleeping it off in Vegas.
Wow. Kudos to Barca, it was a splendid goal in stoppage time, but that game was tarnished by some terrible officiating.
Barcelona got away with a lot in that match. I don't think that they deserve to be in the Champions League Final, but that's just my opinion.
Yep, as much as I hate to admit it, Chelsea were completely ripped off. They should have had at least 3 penalties
No way. I'm sick of this symathy shit the media have fostered for Chelsea just because they're an English club. They got exactly what they deserved last night for their terrible, negative performance. The ref even gave them a helping hand by harshly sending of a Barca player but Chelsea still couldn't score another, instead looking for dubious penalty decisions. And that's what they were, very dubious claims. And Chelsea scream their lungs out over this, resulting in yet another referee recieving death threats from their dispicable supporters. The 2nd ref they've threatened and blamed for their own incompetence. The best team went through. The cheats go out.
That's too bad. Villa's form has slipped without Laursen in the line-up. I guess Gareth Barry will once again be the captain. I hope that he stays at Villa, where he can make a real contribution. I would like to see Villa continue with their young players, and do well. Villa are owned by Randy Lerner, who also owns the Cleveland Browns.
Newcastle are down! A single goal would have kept them up. Ecky is our Wordforge League Champion, and has finished the top 1% of all players. I don't know if Robbie Keane's goal bothered Raphael Benitez, but it kept me out of the top 5%. Camren finished in the top 10%. The Champions League final will be held on Wednesday night. Manchester United will meet Barcelona, in Rome In the U.S., the match will be on ESPN, and also available online. Kick-off is at 2:45 pm, eastern time.
A damn shame Newcastle are down...that's 6 guaranteed points Liverpool will have to miss out on next season. The geordies deserved their fate. Chopping and changing their managers at will, bringing in one 'Messiah' after the other, and players who couldn't give a shit about Newcastle other than the money the club was paying them. Which accounts for almost every big money purchase Newcastle had made in recent seasons. Which is precisely why I scoffed at all those ludicrous celebrations when Newcastle signed Owen. He was only there for the money, and played like it too. Newcastle can easily bounce back up though. Their resources blow away any other team in the Championship but they need a manager who can do the job, someone like Steve Coppell, and not a local hero who doesn't have the first idea of managing a team.
Barcelona are Champions of Europe, after a well deserved 2-0 win over Manchester United. An early goal by Eto'o put United back on their heels. A great ball by Xavi was headed into the net by Messi. Carles Puyol was fantastic playing at right back.
ManUre were pathetic. Such a tame performance. But they could do no better, Barca are totally superior to them. Congrats to Barcelona, worthy champions.
Chelsea have won the FA Cup, beating Everton 2-1, and bringing an end to the English football season. Moderators please unsticky this thread, and thanks for leaving it all season.
BREAKING! Man Yoo have accepted an £80m (93m Euro) bid from Real for Ronaldo That means Real have spent 140m on 2 players..... hope they are worth it. It also means United have their summer transfer monies + 80 million.......
Good business for Manchester United, and good for football. This will make both the Premier League and La Liga more competetive. Liverpool have a real chance, if they can keep Alonso and Mascherano.
Confederations Cup matches today (Sunday). U.S.A - Egypt; 1:25 PM Central Time on ESPN2, 7:25 PM BST on BBC Red Button Brazil - Italy; 1:25 PM Central Time on ESPN, 7:25 PM BST on BBC Three Both matches will be shown online at http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/espn360/index in the U.S. and at BBC Sport in the U.K. Liverpool co-owner George Gillett has agreed to sell the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League to the Molson family for $550 million (330 million pounds). This should ease some of the financial pressure on the Premier League club.
Well the US gave it a good try in the Confed final. If they didn't give up that goal in the 46th minute it might have been a different game.
USA defender Oguchi Onyewu has signed a three year contract with AC Milan. Onyewu, 27, played for Standard Leige last season. He has a good chance of starting in central defense, alongside 25 year-old Brazilian Thiago Silva. -- The Championship season begins on August 8, and Newcastle still doesn't have a manager.
I've set up a league for this coming season, doubt I'll be doing quite as much ass-kicking this year now the wonky-faced gelled tumblers fucked off to sunny Spain... code is: 594747-161723
