I'm on Xbox. I was told that I have to complete the quest that starts at Azura's temple first.

    Nope definitely not.
You can recharge any enchanted item at any time as long as its used some charge and you have a gem containing any soul. You just need to find the right button

Holy Shit! It's the Right Bumper on Xbox.

    Reading definitely is fundamental.

I wish they left the unarmed stat in. It means there's no skill I can upgrade to get better, just leveling up heavy armor and dumping perks in. I think I'm gonna try unarmed in Oblivion sometime.

Back in the old school those unarmed characters were 'monks.' :D

OK... I took the Black Star to Nelacar and now I can absorb human souls. I see why this power was shunned. I find myself wanting to kill innocent people when it's empty just so that I can cast a more powerful enchantment, but I've saved that ability for enemies who attack me so far.

Since I've learned how to recharge my weapons, I'm feeling like a serious bad ass! I've been attacking Giants and dragons like crazy!!

OK... I'm officially addicted after 60 hours of play. I woke up at 4am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so of course, I decided to acquire the last fragment of the amulet of galdaur... And once I had it, well of course I had to re-assemble them.

A little after 8. My wife comes downstairs and seriously thinks about having me committed.

Tell her to dress up as a Khajiitt and organize some sensual/erotic "quests".

Your reward is the married, well rested perk.

Speaking of using your fists, I want the conditioning perk for convenience, but the fists of steel and cushions perks are so retarded I'm not wasting three perks to get it.

I installed the mod that tags non-follower NPC's as non-essential. I wiped out the entire thieves guild in one massive swordfight. (After making sure I talked to the guy who leads you to Esbert)

Also, when I side with the Imps or the Stormcloaks, or wipe out an Orc colony, no more of the 'leadership' taking a knee and refusing to die when I stick the pointy end of my fiery Templar blade in them. :bailey:

Yeah, I'll have to try that.

The problem is, they did a good job with the Thieves Guild characters (well, compared to the general characterization in the game) and I've actually got a lot of sympathy for several of them now - including Sapphire and Rune.

I think I'll see if there's a way I can cheat the game to let me take out Maven at some point. Bitch has to die. I'd llike to make the Guild my personal retinue, but there's no real way to do that.

They've also done a good job on the moral aspects. For example

Oh, and I very much enjoyed

    Nice job guys.

Also looking into marriage. Funny who they allow you to marry - including some real hags, lol. And there's no option to marry one of the buxom lasses in the inns. They actually seem to be looking at it from a 'build a life together' option, as property, their abilities in their business, and their cooking seem to be targeted by the designers as the primary reasons to marry. Very Norse. :D

Odd to have an option to marry your HouseCarls though. That seems a bit odd to me, though I guess to each their own.

And there's a console option to let you try almost anyone, though it might cause issues with the game.

It would have been fun to include some of the bar wenches - especially as they would then largely be useless in game. You could give them all sorts of personalities. A marriage mod is a given at some point - I'd imagine including infidelity ques lines. But why would the bar wench at the Skirt in the Air tavern ever cheat on the Dragonborn! LOL.

I've started my third run through.
This time I am avoiding the main quest completely and hitting all the dragon words before that.
At least the mountain top ones.
And running around the countryside, scoring locations.

Has anyone else noticed the very dangerous habit NPC hunters have of drawing their bow and aiming it at a rabbit or fox that you didn't know was right behind you? I'm not sure how many of them I've wasted because of that.

    Oops. My bad.

There is a character called 'Temba Wide Arms', that has to be a reference to TNG :)

Oh, the easter eggs are legion. I'm sure you've found the book 'Thief', by 'Revan.' ;)

Revan was the main character in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

That was absolutely the worst 1-2 hours of the game yet... but overall, it was pretty awesome from a storytelling perspective! I couldn't go home, I was forced to flee from foes in the sunlight... and ultimately, I had to yield to the nature of my disease. Very, very good!
