The Walking Dead General Discussion Thread - Spoilers for aired episodes

If they don't know, why did Rick plug those dead guys in the head a couple weeks ago after he defended himself in the bar?

Are you even bothering to watch the show?

The speculation is one of two things:

#1 Rick was told at the end of season one by Dr. Jenner that everyone who dies is infected. So Rick knows but no one else does because he hasn't told them.

#2 Rick just shot the guy behind the bar in the head because it's just the way it happened (Rick knowing he was facing two people went for the head shot) and he shot the fat guy in the head to make sure he was dead. Rick doesn't know dying makes one a Zombie and what Dr. Jenner told him was that Lori is pregnant.

None of the other characters know that just dying turns you into a walker and until the show tells us we don't know if Rick knows it.

Two in the chest and one in the head, and you will have no walking dead.

I just made that up.

Just saw two interesting things in 18 Miles Out.

Shane told Rick that two weeks after Rick was shot and that was the day Shane was in the hospital when all hell was breaking loose. So civilization went from a couple weird stories in Shane's words to soldiers shooting civilians in the hospital and zombies destroying everything. Fast.

And Shane noticed that the two officer zombies they killed didn't seem to have any bites or sctraches on them. Rick kinda brushed him off.

Oh and amazing how those knives can penetrate skulls.

And once again one of our intrepid heroes hides under a zombie body.

And Andrea is nuts to suggest that Lori was wrong to take the knife from the girl. While I can agree the girl can off herself off if she wants I wouldnt want to be the person that lets her kill herself. I wouldn't want to live with that.

But everything else Andrea said to Lori was spot on.

I assume zombie skeletons get squishier somehow. It's a pretty consistent theme throughout most zombie movies I've seen.

Nautica agrees: Actually, Shane noticed no bites. Rick suggested scratches...

Yeah, back to people being stupid again last ep.

I like the fact they are having the discussions about how group dynamics and what ethics mean in the new environment, but dayamn these people are dumb.

And Shane is still stupid. You and Rick just killed two walkers with a knife in order to be quiet. That's smart. But then you stupidly try to shoot the kid? It's like ringing the dinner bell.

Oh and throwing the wrench? Icing on the cake.

And Dale is wrong.

And Carl just grew up. Your actions have consequences. I guess getting Dale killed makes up for what he does in the comics to that other kid.

And once Shane and Rick heard the kid say he knew Maggie they should have killed him on the spot.

I wonder if by eliminating the moral centre of the show in Dale means down the road we're going to be treated with some very questionable actions from the remaining survivors.

I'm glad Dale is dead, and I don't care why they did it. He just bothered the shit out of me, and people like him would be another reason I'd avoid groups after the zombie apocalypse. I was tired of hearing him. Similar to the reason I was glad the little girl got zombie-fied and shot: because I was sick of fucking hearing about her.

Next on the agenda:
Leave that fucking farm and all the local bullshit behind and get back on the goddamned road. [/?]

Like I said, the Dale character got on my nerves from the first time I saw him on screen.

I don't know if I would've killed him myself, but I surely wouldn't have been in a survival group with that guy.

Or with Rick, the guy who thinks he needs to be the lead alpha male because he's a cop with a family.

Or Shane, an obvious bullying high school jock type. Not only would I not put up with his company, I'd be damned tempted to quietly render him not-alive some night.

Or anyone who thinks I'm there to keep an eye on their fucking kids (two baby mommas and one daddy in this group.)

Or anyone who nominates themselves arbiter of morality for me. (dale, and to a lesser degree andrea)

Or anyone who bitches, whines, and guilts you a lot. (Lori, Carl, Andrea, Sophea's mom, Sophea, Glenn to a lesser degree, even Rick a lot of the time)

So, for people who are tolerable enough to travel with, I'm left with Daryl (but not his brother), and "T-Dog". People who mostly take care of business without a lot of fuss.

I'm irritated with the whole, we have to stay on the farm bit. Why, it's not like there is a shortage of empty places to live. They might have to do a little bit of zombie land cleaning, but why stay where they aren't wanted.

I know in real life it's because AMC are being cheap bastards and cut the budget, but it is still annoying. Get on with the damn plot already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of T-Dog (UA was...), is homeboy ever gonna get some lines? It's been like all season that he's been a glorified extra, just lurking in the background, not saying a gorram word.

I'd keep Glenn, he has a lot of flunky usefulness and a little whining is worth that.

The problem i see with your group is if you have three (or four) manly-men together and no outlet for....urges....how long is that going to hold up?

Surprised its not been brought up in the thread yet, whose motorbike was it that carl found? The ss logo on it& the gun in the bag? Isnt this dude going to be a- alerted to the groups presence now& b- pissed that someone stole his gun?

Also how did the walker disimbowel dale with his bare hands? Is that even possible?

It happens in every Romero flick, it's a zombie article of faith, like the squishy easy stab heads.

I believe it belonged to Daryl Dixon.

Maybe the flesh erodes off of their fingertips, leaving only pointy finger bones. Still wouldn't be efficient, but close to stabbing you with a big phillips head screwdriver.

is it just me or did the re-animations tonight happen MUCH faster than it did with Andrea's sister?

Is there a comic explanation for this? or was it just a matter of convenience to the plot?

I think Dr. Jenner said the shortest one they'd seen at the CDC, TS-19, was a little over 2 hours. The first one tonight fit in pretty well. That last one was pretty quick.

6 minutes was the shortest reanimation IIRC... TS-19. I was just thinking about that episode and how they never followed up on that one.

I'm just catching up on the four episodes I have recorded. Two more to go. Damn I want to shoot Dave in the face. I'm looking forward to seeing him eaten. No place for a man like that in zombieland. I sure as fuck would not be traveling with any of these assholes except the black guy and the guy collecting ears. Maybe Glenn. How sad is it that the guy with the ear collection is the most competent out of your group?

Sorry I meant Dale. That's how little I care about him. Can't even remember his name. Come to think about it I don't know most of their names. Glad he gotten eaten and died looking up at the group while they put a bullet in him.
