Nothing like this could ever happen HERE, of course. Not a death panel. A deportation panel. Yeah, yeah. Snivel about "Faux News" if you have nothing meaningful to contribute.
Nah. More fun to point and laugh at you for having to go to New Zealand for your daily dose of OUTRAGE!!!!1!
Nope. Google News. You may have heard of it. But, like I said, nothing like that could ever happen in the 'states, so move along, nothing to see here.
I'm fine with a no fatties allowed policy at the border. I've always liked the Ali G idea of allowing in unlimited amounts of fine young women, only placing restrictions on the mingers.
Yeah, there's no difference between denied a product sold by a private entity, and being fucking deported for being too fat. Collectivise costs, use those costs to meddle in free will. Shame on anyone who falls for these schemes.
Are you fucking kidding me? When I had cancer, I couldn't change jobs, because of the pre-existing conditions issue. If I had been fired, I would probably be dead right now. Or are you worried about this because your head is up your ass so much it will violate obesity concerns? You have no right to immigrate wherever the fuck you want to. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Its always up to the government of the country of where you want to move to whether you will be allowed in. Wow, yet another ENTITLEMENT that UA is for. You have to let me in even if I'm fat! WAAAAAHH!!! Hypocrite.
You also have no right to live at someone else's expense. Actually, asstard, my preference would be no government-engineered excuse for people to butt into other peoples' health concerns.
You find a post where I support illegal immigration or amnesty, I'll give you a cookie. I've been through the immigration system - my wife is from Canada, so we got to deal with all the joys of the paperwork and inane restrictions. But its the law, and you don't get a free pass just because you really, really want to.
On the one hand he doesn't have a right to be a permanent resident. On the other hand it's a pretty shitty deal considering he has already been there for 6 years and has actually lost weight since he arrived and seemed to be a contributing member of society. At the end of the day, this doesn't really do anything to convince me that government run health care is across the board bad considering all the good experiences I've had with it, along with my family and friends. People looking for a perfect health care model just aren't going to find it.
Or it could be an incentive for people to take Personal Responsibility for their health. Nah, couldn't possibly be that...
So get rid of insurance. Got it. Oh, wait, you don't understand that insurance is the process of collectivizing costs?
It's nobody else's place to punitively meddle in your personal habits to satisfy their arbitrary minimal health standards. Not your neighbor, and not your government. I don't "owe" society my good health and longevity. If you're not free to defile and destroy yourself, you're not free at all.
Of course I do, dipshit. I also understand the fact that I could stop giving them money tomorrow, if I wanted. Not the case with government. Consent is not a detail you just get to sweep aside when it's inconvenient.
But it's okay for your insurer to pass judgment...as long as your employer's picking up the tab. Yep. SSDD.
No, it's OK because I can deprive them of my money anytime I want. I can refuse to participate. I can have no part of it. Doesn't matter if it's an unpalatable choice, it's still a fucking choice, and I will not have it devalued.
This isnt so much about 'healthcare' as 'government placing limits on immigration'. You cant get citizenship in New Zealand or Australia or the UK now or many other places without 'scoring enough points'. Factors include education, qualifications, experience, financial viability,.. and so on. I didnt know weight was a factor in any of them. But I wouldn't blame the local healthcare system (which is almost certainly better and much cheaper than yours) for these decisions, rather than immigration politicians and civil servants.....
Wow. New and unforeseen levels of stupid here. Because in the 'Murcan healthcare system, as we all know by now, such a person would not go onto a National Health scheme, but his costs would be picked up by the public anyway at much greater expense.
You'll have to quote me endorsing that state of affairs. I seem to have forgotten typing it out like that, but I know you couldn't be trying to float a false dichotomy. If someone wants to eat themselves to death, LET THEM. The solution to paying for the cost of his health care is this: DON'T. If your conscience can't handle that, YOU pay for it.
I obviously mean don't pay for anyone's health care, expecting them take responsibility for their own expenses instead. No erosion of free will or deportations necessary.
Yes, I believe were all intimately familiar with that demand by now. But let's not paint this particular incident as some sort of "gotcha" that must be avoided at all costs. People are denied entry to countries all the time. It isn't a right. And civilised people (not you) would much rather this happen occasionally than sick people die in the streets of our cities for want of care.
Then you "civilized" people can find a way to pay for it without bleeding the taxpayers or deporting able-bodied, productive adults.
