cool -- I picked Auburn in my Yahoo College Pick 'Em. Now if Kentucky can beat Tennessee I'll win the week for once.
Auburn v Mizzou in Hotlanta next weekend! Woot!!! My SIL found tix on Stub Hub, and called to see if we wanted to go, but the Wife's work Holiday Drunkfest Party is next weekend, so no dice. We'll just have to watch it at a sports bar like everybody else. Interesting how Auburn has needed "miracle" plays at the end of each of the last two games in order to win, while Mizzou just keeps on takin' care of business. But props to them both as they keep getting it done! It ought to be an interesting game. They have 5 common opponents: Mizzou beat Georgia by 15, Auburn beat'em by 5. Mizzou beat Tennessee by 28, Auburn beat'em by 32. Mizzou beat A&M by 7, Auburn beat'em by 4. Mizzou beat Arkansas State by 22, Auburn beat'em by 29. Mizzou beat Ole Miss by 14, Auburn beat'em by 8. Make of that whatever you will. I think one think we all can hope for (aside from the wayward Buckeye fans), is for Michigan State to drop a big "L" on Ohio State next weekend, so that whomever wins the SEC Championship can play for the BCS Championship!!! Go SPARTY!!!!!
The Sun Devils beat up on the hated U of A Wildcats. No pity for the kitty. ASU plays Stanford for the Pac 12 Championship next week --- go Devils!
I have been out of pocket this weekend, but was laughing my ass off in a hotel room this morning watching the Auburn highlights, even though I knew the ending. A one loss SEC team deserves the BCS shot over Ohio State, the B1G is still a joke. You wanna be the man, you beat the man, and Ohio State ain't beat shit.
Hate to disagree but your wrong.. Just because they don't play the same teams don't make it any less relevant. Besides what are you gonna do when they lose again?
The narrative has already started, Ohio State isn't going display for the title. Send a thank you note to the rest of the sorry ass B1G. When who loses again? I'm only interested in one game this week, beating Oklahoma will still be a better win than any from the last two years of Ohio State football.
Has Ohio State even played a ranked team this year? If no, then they should be grateful that they may even get an invite to the Ty-D Bowl. Oh, and the cackles from the Bama faithful are hilarious. Criminally actionable threats against a kicker aren't enough. A petition has been started to fire Saban. When will they learn that you can't win a national championship every year? Oh, and I sincerely hope Harvey's parole officer kept tabs on him last night after what he said.
If Ohio State -- or any team -- runs the table, they deserve consideration for Generic Championship Bowl Name. It's that simple. Whoever wins between Mizzou and Auburn deserves consideration for GCBN. It's also that simple. Mizzou's one loss was taking a strong SEC team to double-OT while playing their backup quarterback. They beat two other SEC teams with that backup quarterback. The loss would be South Carolina, who was apparently poised to win the division if Mizzou didn't beat Texas A&M. I don't know what Auburn did in their loss. That's what we have Elwood for. Whoever gets to the GCBN will deserve it, but there will probably be several other teams who might have deserved it as well. That's the nature of a 13-game schedule among, like, a hundred teams. So until there's a playoff, preferably with 6-8 teams to be on the safe side, the "national championship" will be a bad joke. With a playoff, it would merely be a poor joke.
Because SO FAR you've played no one of worth. If you beat the Spartans and win your bowl game you'll get credit. Giving someone a high ranking because of symbol on the side of their helmet is the biggest problem with college football. I know how many ranked teams my team has beat, can you say the same?
Missouri could deal their new conference a blow by beating Auburn next weekend, since their resume isn't quite as polished as Auburn's at this point. IMO they would still be worthy of jumping the Buckeyes in that case, but I think TPTB would use it as an excuse to end the SEC's 7-year-run of champions. Of course, it's all moot, as Michigan State will handle Ohio State next weekend, and then all will be right with the world. Step 1) Beat Texas A&M. Done. Step 2) Beat Alabama Auburn in the SEC Championship Game Step 3) Go Sparty! Michigan State beats Ohio State in B1G Championship Game Step 4) Jameis Winston charged with Rape/Sexual Assault and kicked off Florida State's team Step 5) Tigers win BCS Championship!!!! :frolic: Step 6) PROFIT!!!
