Within the last hour. 11 dead so far. Others in critical condition. The magazine is a satirical magazine, which likes to take potshots at, among other things, ISIS, North Korea and so on. So likely that this is a terrorist attack. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30710883
Not saying terrorists have no sense of humor or are thin-skinned but damn......it's a magazine guys. Hop they find who did it, but no doubt many will take credit for the attack.
14th Paedo and Bailey had best assemble Betaforge to ensure: we know this has nothing to do with Islam to tell us this is the work of a lone wolf/wolves someone takes to Twitter to counter the racist, indigenous backlash before it materialises we know the real problem is a load of baptists from Bumfuck, AR
ahhhhh a perfect comment I'm stealing that I saw somewhere else....... "Freedom of expression or Islam: France is reminded that a nation cannot have both."
Well, that depends who you ask. To an Islamist it's not a form of expression, it's divine, which, to them, transcends all else.
All religious believers think their religions divine. Freedom of religion is still necessary for there to be freedom of expression.
Islam is a threat to the world. Once you become a threat to other forms of expression you cease to be worth protecting yourself. Europe is going to come under increasing problems because it wants to be like you and pretend that it's just bad people doing these things and not that it's bad people doing these things because of their religion. Europe is letting in too many of the Islamic faith while refusing to force them to assimilate and bringing Islam to heel. The people who follow Islam believe that there is no other freedom of expression except theirs and you follow their rules or you get machined gunned to death while at work.
Strawman. They clearly are doing it because of their religion. Really? Link to where Muslims in general indicated that they support this kind of attack.
Cell phone video of the shooting: http://m.weeklystandard.com/blogs/v...hu-akbar-french-magazine-shooting_823281.html
I think you'll find it's the other way around. Religion is man made. What followers of a religion deem to be compatible or not compatible with society is really in the eye of the beholder. Freedom of expression is not an unqualified right that can be used as a justification for criminal acts like this. In other words, if an Islamist carries out an action like this then his freedom of expression be damned. He's nothing but a criminal whose beliefs are not compatible with civilised society. He gives up the right to his civil liberties the moment he decides he can use a fairytale to justify murder.
They support it by doing nothing. As long as those who practice Islam get on their knees to pray right next to the radicals praying and in the presence of radical imams and do nothing they support it. It continues to amaze me how leftists like you Rick bend over backwards to protect Islam. Islam as it's currently practiced calls for people like you to be killed. They don't want to be part of Europe. They do not want to live as equals to Jews , Christians, or even the atheists. They want to take over Europe and make it Islamic. Europe is seeing a new form of jihad, unlimited immigration of a religion that is hostile to freedom, and it's ignoring the threat.
It's said that the shooters said "this is to avenge the Prophet Mohammed" when they entered the offices of the magazine. That magazine has in the past depicted Mohammed in cartoons and also the leader of ISIS and has previously been firebombed following such publications. Pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if these could be Islamist returning from Syria or Iraq?
Twelve dead now. And every paper in the Western world should put Mohammed in cartoons as a show of support for this magazine. But they won't because they are scared to stand up to a religious death cult which is what Islam has turned into.
These two subhumans killed far more than twelve people. Europe will now be even more reluctant to help the thousands of refugees in Lebanon and in other places without enough food and shelter. Thousands will die. Fucking scum.
Like I said in the other threads, it's far more important to people like Rick (and others), to appear politically correct and support those whom you ideological (political) opponents dislike than to deal with the reality of a situation.
You are misconstruing Rick's statement. The idea that freedom of religion is of paramount importance to societies that value freedom of expression is not inconsistent with the view that murder is not an allowable form of expression.
I think we should put a giant flag on top of the World Trade Center building with a bald eagle perched on top of a a cartoon Muhammad. Make it twice the size of the flag from Fort McHenry. Give the bald eagle an Ar-15, cowboy hat, cigar and a Budweiser and throw in a football and whole roasted pork somewhere. Anyone feel free to photoshop or draw this up.
So, when christians do terrorism in the name of christianity do we blame christianity or not? Im confused
