You clearly don't understand how context works. In his definition and reply to the question he clearly meant it as "all women have x".
Teachers are the only people who can use "working to contract" as a threat in labor disputes. "Working to contract" means doing exactly what the job description requires. If most people do that, they're considered the model employee. When teachers do it, everything falls apart. Because the sheer amount of work they do that isn't covered by the contract could, in the words of John Hoynes, stun a team of oxen in its tracks.
You're not wrong about the work teachers do, but "work to rule" is pretty commonly recognized as a form of strike action in most sectors. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work-to-rule#
That's not what he said. What he SAID is "all x are women". I am only replying to what he actually said, not what you think he meant.
Hey, @Uncle Albert earned his high school diploma all on his own, no stinkin' teachers helped him. His 2.3 GPA was solely his own accomplishment, not a single person helped him earn that.
You don't even seem to realize how long summer break actually is anymore. I was teaching 15 years ago and our obligation ran into the last days of May - after Memorial Day, and the in-service prep for classes to resume was in the first days of August. For that work the average teacher, if her salary is pro-rated up to 12 months from 10, makes less than the median income in her state.
But he was asked to define "all women" - if his reply was not "all women are X" then he didn't and couldn't answer the question. Every attempt any of them made fail that test.
Y'all, Florida is up to bullshit but Texas is up to mega-bullshit and Alabama is dropping kiju space-alien bullshit. In Alabama, we just saw the worst day of attacks against transgender kids, with bills that would: - Make gender-affirming care a felony - Restrict school restroom access - Force school staff to out LGBTQ+ kids - Ban discussion of LGBTQ+ issues in schools (and yes, the governor will sing all this mess and they will immediately get sued) ----- According to the bill, nurses, counselors, teachers, principals, and school administrators at any public or private school in the state are forbidden from "[withholding] from a minor's parent or legal guardian information related to a minor's perception that his or her gender or sex is inconsistent with his or her sex." Alabama lawmakers passed a bill Thursday that would force teachers and counselors in the state to out any transgender students to their parents. The Alabama House passed the legislation that also criminalizes medical treatments that help transgender minors transition by a 66-28 vote. The Alabama Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act would make it a felony for doctors to prescribe puberty blockers or hormones to minors who identify as transgender. Doctors are also prohibited from performing surgeries that help minors transition. According to the bill, nurses, counselors, teachers, principals, and school administrators at any public or private school in the state are forbidden from "[withholding] from a minor's parent or legal guardian information related to a minor's perception that his or her gender or sex is inconsistent with his or her sex." The legislation has been debated for three years and had already passed in the Senate ahead of today's House vote,Al.com reported. A second bill, which passed in the state Senate Thursday, prohibits any instruction on sexual orientation or gender in elementary school classrooms, similar to the recently passed "Don't Say Gay" bill in Florida,Alabama.com reported. The original version of the bill, first introduced by Rep. Scott Stadthagen, required students to use bathrooms and locker rooms that match the gender listed on their birth certificates rather than that match their gender identities, the Montgomery Adviser reported. During the debate over the bill on Thursday, Sen. Shay Shelnutt introduced the new amendment, according to the Montgomery Adviser. "We just don't think it's appropriate to be talking about homosexuality and gender identity," Shelnutt said. "You know, they should be talking about math, science [and] writing, especially in elementary school." The bill will go back to the House before being passed. It passed in the Senate 26-5,Al.com reported. The US Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services have told states they plan to ensure transgender care for minors. Alabama's legislation is the latest in a string of anti-trans bills pushed by Republican state politicians that prohibit medical care for trans youth and limit discussion and education about gender identity.
My daughter is a teacher (as are my sister, her daughters, and numerous friends and relatives) and her schedule is much the same. She gets maybe eight weeks between the end of one school year and the beginning of the next. Teachers getting “three months off” hasn’t been a thing here for decades.
Yes. An underage woman, but nonetheless one who is absolutely capable of giving informed consent to sex with a 45-year-old Republican. Related reading: https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/faq-underage-women
compare and contrast "Seriously, you’ve got this fucking lunatic calling for genocide of trans people every goddamn day on here, but Twitter can’t give enough of a shit to enforce ITS EXISTING RULES. These are the rules WE ALL agree to on here. Either enforce them or get rid of them." ~Parker Molloy nailing it as always
QFT. Last I recalled, UA's been working at one of the only call centers in his state that didn't drug test for the past two decades, where his only issue is that they wanted to do direct deposit
Hell, most schools districts--at least the ones in California--dont even get a few three months off. Schools that open a week before Labor Day are considered as opening extremely late nowadays. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's becoming the case everywhere and yeah, as others have said, the teachers aren't off coking and joking during those six to eight weeks either. They e got a metric fuck ton of meetings and trainings to go through. Pay them better. it ain't hard.
Ohhhhh nooooo!!!!! Fun fact: the pink and blue thing? An artificial construct. It actually used to be reversed at one point. Hell, FDR's baby pictures have him in a dress. Dresses on all babies of any gender was a thing. Let me know when they break out the rubber asses, then I might cry along with you.
My first grade teacher told me that I was an aberration because I was wearing pants to school - that I walked to - more than a mile - in snow. Shut the fuck up about shit you don't even care enough about to research. Asshole.
