Atlanta has a shooting just about everyday now. There were five shootings in one day just this past week. I live West of Atlanta, but my work takes me into Atlanta everyday.
I didn’t say there’s no way to prevent it, I said no amount of gun control will stop these people. This is a mental health issue, not a gun issue.
I hate it when people use their mental health issues to accelerate hundreds of bullets to supersonic speeds!
Then you'll stop supporting Libertarians who oppose greater health coverage, right? No, those kids are just the price we pay for living in a society with shit gun laws and no universal health care for mental issues. You know, unlike every other advanced economy, that doesn't have these issues.
Looks like the Tusla shooting was a patient that didn't like the outcome of his back surgery and blamed the doctor. He killed the doctor and 3 others, then turned the gun on himself. He bought a AR-15 and handgun from a pawn shop just hours before the attack. https://www.npr.org/2022/06/02/1102...octor-among-those-killed-in-the-mass-shooting
Also of note, with the last two mass execution of school children being just out of school themselves and waiting to purchase their assault rifles until they were legally able to at age 18, we should raise the age of purchase for AR-15s to at least 21, better 25. We should put in a waiting period so idiots like the Tulsa shooter of doctors and nurses can't immediately get a gun and walk over and execute people. And we need to be cognizant of the fact that a shooter at a school probably grew up in that school system and has no doubt been to all the school shooter training exercises as the staff and other kids were, and no doubt will start using that knowledge when planning their attacks. All of this is completely predictable, just like the fact someone was going to use the bump stock loophole to execute a mass attack against a crowd. That one was only the most lethal and damaging single attack by a single gunman in world history.
Boy, if every back surgery patient who was disappointed with the results went after their surgeons, things could get really ugly. No, I'm not kidding.
And yet, humans in the US are no different than humans in any other country. But, other countries don’t have the same level of gun violence - either outright or per capita. Anyway you slice, there is more gun violence in the US. There is only one difference. Can you guess what it might be?
I told you already what I think is the problem, mental health issues. I have a few other theories as well.
Did you read what I wrote? You do a lot of online dating don’t you. I can tell because you made the effort to respond but to something that is not even anything to do with what I sent.
which would bring to bear the question of why are there so many mentally compromised people with access to firearms in your country? I've got a single violent crime conviction from over 35 years ago and a couple of pot possessions in my 20s. If you think it's even worth my time to apply for a PAL (Possession and Acquisition Licence) to own even a squirrel shooter, you're nuts.
