That CNN is running with this "story" while burying that very important fact in the middle of the article should put the "liberal media bias" narrative to rest, but since conservatives love playing the victim card, I doubt it will.

Let's break down the thing CNN reported, shall we?

So someone on Comer's staff gave CNN bank records and a memo. The records don't -- so far in this article, anyways -- say "members of Joe Biden's family including his son Hunter" received millions of dollars in payments from foreign entities in China and Romania. It only talks about Hunter Biden. We'll see if that changes as it goes through.

As the article says, the committee does not suggest that there's anything illegal about it. FF, assuming that it's not illegal and there's no tie to Hunter influencing directly anything Biden did or has done, why should we care? Isn't it a known thing that politicians of all stripes have nepo babies?

If you give someone with an agenda subpoena power and they still are unable to come up with evidence that worse than "Hunter worked for firms that did business internationally even though he had no personal expertise," that is a sign that there's probably no there there. (Or that person with subpoena power is utterly incompetent. I can't rule that out.)

OK, so the story establishes that a second Biden family member, Biden's daughter-in-law, received payments from Walker, who had received money from a Romanian. Let's accept on face value that there is a legitimate question as to why that was and whether it was some sort of bribe from Popoviciu to Walker to Hunter and Hallie Biden. Getting to the bottom of that question, such as it is, doesn't seem like it would be that hard. Have Hunter or Walker testify as to what the payment was for.

Hey, I'm certainly open to more disclosure as to the finances of the president, the VP and their immediate family members. We just got done with a president who wouldn't publicly reveal his taxes, and I think a law that requires disclosure of that information is a step in the right direction. I think that Congress should set an example and make public certain information about themselves and their own immediate relatives as well.

And Supreme Court Justices. Of course, the GOP will never go for this. They are far more corrupt than the Dems.

Making an assertion and then providing evidence that refutes it in the very same post is, of course, old hat for FF ... but doing it in the very first post of a thread is a little rarer.
