The crazy thing is that some in here don't seem to understand why it matters what you say in an oath. If it doesn't matter, you don't need an oath.

Also - a hidden agenda? What would that be? Perhaps to make the point that there is a hidden agenda in making people swear to believe in a God? A quick look at wikipedia tells me you have this line in your constitution:

Needless to say, the verdict was that the requirement of South Carlina State Constitution, was unconstitutional. The same thing had happened in the 1961 ruling in Torcaso v. Watkins.

So, seeing how the clause is:
A. Unconstitutional
B. Illogical
C. Just Plain Silly
there is no doubt in my mind how this will end.

At 31 I'm already feeling old, I don't know how you real old farts do it!

I still feel young, and I'm about twice your age.

I guess it's a question of how you look at things. In any case, I still intend to be hanging around, getting sassier and sassier, for the next 30 or 40 years...

I dunno, 40 is creeping up on me, time seems to be going by faster, I have this big memory now of how things went along in culture and technology....but I'm kind of liking it.
It's like sitting in the H.G. Wells time machine.

There's that feeling of "oh, shit, Ninja Turtles are almost 30? Ghostbusters is 30? Transformers is 30? Enterprise has been off for 9 years?".
But....at the same time, that's kinda cool.

If you compare yourself to my viewpoint, then yes, just you. For me, it's the opposite. Things are moving faster, and I have less and less time, and I'm fully aware that I have less and less time to do things. I've long since stopped believing in the notion of happily ever after (though it would be very nice), and the idea that good things comes to those who wait. Good things do not come to those who wait. Scraps come to those who wait; crumbs come to those who wait. For me there is no such thing as all things in time, because there is too little time left, and so much to do. Some people tell me that as I get older, I'll enjoy life more, but I don't believe that either. I'm only 34, and I'm already diabetic, have high blood pressure, a heart murmur, and the onset of arthritis (part of this is due to my very early arrival on this Earth). I try to keep my mind sharp, but I'm still losing focus, so yes, I see bleak things ahead. I'd like to see good things, and I'd like to look back fondly on things and enjoy the passage of time, but I can't. So on that, you and I are very different, my friend.

A friend posted a Tweet about that on Facebook yesterday (he's a pretty good troll and would fit right in here ) and the first post was from some Christian friend of his bemoaning the decision.

To their credit, a number of other Christian friends of his approved of the decision.

Hey look...keyboard warrior dickynoo has stricken a blow against the christians he hates...and by stricken a blow...I mean he sat and whined on the internet about christians while other people actually did stuff.


As to the decision, it's pandering, but I doubt it's going to upset as many people as you think.
