I agree that Nick should have maybe asked before going ahead and banning you (or at least frozen your account), but you didn't use your board name, so it probably made it harder to get in contact. Edit: also, looks like someone just killed you.
Let's see, get accused of cheating. Have my account fucked with so my ship starts off at level 1. Then lose over 50 of planets because of that. All without being asked or even checked with on what happened. So Nick and anyone else can go fuck themselves. How fun or entertaining can something be when some assfuckers decide they can take down a player in the game? Like I said, no interest in this game anymore. If I had wanted to cheat, I would of used separate IP's.
Normally I do ask, however, the end of the universe was in two days and I had 4 accounts with the same IP that started and stopped after a crucial point in the game, I couldn't really think of any other situation that it wouldn't be cheating.
attacked Ramen (For the hell of it) and died, escape pod: Self-Destruct, I clicked again and it re-cloned me (I don't know why. I guess it DOES let you back) and self-destructed. I don't know if I did it again or not
He attacked and destroyed 999,480 of my fighters and their crews. You kill a million of mine, I kill 50 billion of yours. It's the Colonial way.
Ed, people asked multiple times about who was/were the members of Ceti Alpha 5. You could've told anyone anytime. When I got my brother into the last game, I made sure everyone knew he wasn't me. It was a bit harsh, but only given the fact that the game's over anyway. Mistakes all around.
And one other thing: Call it me being Devil's Advocate or call it Sour Grapes on my part (it's probably a little of both), but I have a small problem with this continual tinkering with the rules (by people who are playing (and winning) the game). Maybe it's just me, but the problem is that most of us have to tweak our strategies to make the most of the rules. When a person that is playing is also administrating, they have the luxury of tweaking the rules to make the most of their strategies. Now I'm sure Nick would never consciously do something like that, but look at it on a subconscious level. At some point he has to have thought about how he'd play the game differently if interest was less of a factor--probably quite a bit further out than the rest of us have (since we didn't even realize that was an option). For all we know, the players in his alliance have been discussing it for the past few days and already have the basis of a strategy built.
Now if THAT isn't an open and blatant accusation of cheating, I don't know what is. What the hell is wrong with you?
It's not an accusation, but it's a fair observation that it is a little conflict of interest to have one of the players being the decider of all the rules. edit: Anyway, has the last game officially stopped yet? If not I've discovered a bug that has my ship caught in a loop.
You still should've asked before taking action--would've saved a LOT of headache and trouble for both you and Gomez. You asked me when you thought HoneyII was a dual of mine, rather than my co-worker Jim. It's crap like this, along with the across-the-board declaration of the settings tweaks for the next game (without any real back & forth discussion), that do not give me a warm fuzzy feeling when I think about the inherent conflict of interest when the person administering the game is also playing (and dominating) it. Your methods are not open and transparent to all.
I did ask, and the same with phantomofthenet, but then again, that was just one dual, not 3, and in your case I had recalled you saying possibly that your friend was going to play next game. Quite frankly, I'm damn close to shutting the game down for good, there's no possible way it will ever not be a conflict of interest for me to play the game as long as I am an admin for this board, since that's never not going to happen, you're going to have to just deal with it. But if you can't play the game without allegations of cheating every time, then maybe you shouldn't play, you're starting to sound like a sore loser. Same follows doubly for Volpone. And in regards to dominating it, Elwood still wins every time. And if my methods are so non-transparent, then how do you know what the settings for the next game will be?
Oi! dont shut the game down, if it comes down to you not wanting to play then dont, dont shut it down so the rest of us cant play. I for one dont care what the rules are, or who wins
Damn, 2am UK, 3am for europe, thats far to late to play. All you north americans have a massive advantage, go easy on us lot when we start
Log in as me and you'll see. If you don't have access to my password come into chat in the next few minutes and I'll give it to you. I'm caught in a loop where I have tried to enter a sector with fighters and got the retreat/fight/cloak choice, however whichever one I click it just takes me back to the list of choices.
Now who sounds sore? Yeah, like you and him aren't part of a team that's doing the dominating. Play a game without Elwood as an ally, and maybe that argument will hold some weight. It's more the "decree from above" presentation, without any significant discussion on the tweaks prior to that, that gets my goat. IMO there should've been a discussion thread regarding the issue open for at least a week, prior to any decisions being made by consensus.
Okay, now that I've found out how to set the settings for the cargo, here goes. Previously: Ore could be bought for 6 credits, and sold for 16 credits. Organics could be bought for 3 credits, and sold for 7 credits. Energy could be bought for 2 credits and sold for 4 credits. Goods could be bought for 8 credits and sold for 22 credits. Now: Ore can be bought for 7 credits and sold for 16 credits. Organics can be bought for 2 credits and sold for 6 credits. Goods can be bought for 7 credits and sold for 23 credits. Energy can be bought for 3 credits and sold for 9 credits.
Everyone already got their cash in the bank, just wondering if I beat all of you colonial punks (which doesn't include Elwood, since he's the Colonial master punk).
I'm letting the majority of my money earn interest on one of my planets before I put it in the bank in a few hours. I'm pretty sure I have more than you, but Nick has more than me.
