Yeah, I agree with Faceman here. That's like saying here is a link to my real name on this site. Then turning around and crying about personal info when people mention his name. "But I didn't actually post it".

In this case however it wasn't applied properly. Jamey didn't reveal anything. Yet he got banned. Pretty slimy from TPTD but standard fare on this board.

Why no big stink when 14thDoctor got banned for doing the same thing to Kirk? Heck back then there wasn't even precedence, so it would be even more unfair no? Why all the uproar now?

Becasue he posted Kirk's name. Not sure how you and others can't tell the difference between a picture and posting someones actual name. If Jamey had said 14th Doc's name this thread wouldn't exist and you wouldn't hear a peep out of anyone in complaint.

Of course like the mods you gloss over that point time and again and just assume we are against Jamey being banned because we like him.

I wasn't around when 14thDoc got banned the first time, but when I asked about it, I was told that 14thDoc revealed Kirk's name in the RR, and got banned for it.

A bit different from posting a picture that has no direct link to 14thDoc unless you point it out, no?

He didn't post the name saying "Kirk's real name is ____" he posted a bunch of threads with the name in them, with no connection to Kirk. In fact like Jamey's sig most where about celebrities that shared that same first name.

Yes, he posted the name, in thread titles on the subject, with no content pointing to Kirk.

Just like Jamey put pictures in his sig with no content pointing at 14thDr.

B/c they are the exact same kind of troll except one is with images and the other words. In both cases nothing in the thread titles or sig itself pointed at the 'outed' poster but both were found to be warnable offenses.

14th Doctor admitted he was trolling Kirk. 14th Doctor and Kirk had been fighting when 14th Doctor tricked the big dummy into revealing someone personal information earning Kirk a ban.

Jamey never said what the picture was for. 14th Doctor assumed it was about him and complained. The mods did nothing because no one could make a connection to 14th Doctor. 14th Doctor then on purpose started a Help Desk thread shitstorm to get Jamey banned. It worked.

Not one word was said about garamet's insult to jamey, no reference to that being his real name, but she was banned.

this is the same thing. except, this time, it had to be brought to everyone's attention.

14thDoctor never said that his thread titles were a troll of Kirk. Yes they were fighting a bitchwar, but IIRC nothing was ever said that pointed towards 14thDoctor's thread titles being part of it.

I wonder which Mod was the one to notice it and bring it up in the Shelter...

See this is the problem. No one will come out and say it exactly.

If she got busted for saying Jamey then really she couldn't have been banned. What was it specifically that she did?

The problem is garamet's trolling of Jamey resulted in a ban and an information wipe shortly thereafter. No one knew exactly what she was banned for save a few staff members. Her silence at TK may have made many believe she herself admitted her guilt and was just sitting out her ban.

Jamey, and 14thDoc, inadvertently, drew attention to the potential banning and gave the story legs. It gave the whole forum a chance to analyze the story.

She used Whistler's real first name as part of an insulting post. And it wasn't her first time doing shit like that either.

I thought what takes place at TK had no bearing here. Like how you were able to connect the dots over there when it came to 14thDoctor.

While the road leading to Petey's ban was an unmitigated clusterfuck, I have to say the end result is highly satisfying. Reading the panty-twisting whining from Zombie and others has proven very entertaining. Carry on...
