    Just curious.

What do ya'll do when you're concealing and in say, a mall? When you drop your trousers and you have your gun on your belt, for example? At home, I just take it out and set it on the floor or somewhere secure. But in the mall, what do you do? I mean, there are folks out there that peek below stalls and could see it there on the floor when a fellow drops his pants. And that could be inconvenient?

Also, do you carry when you get your hair cut?

These are serious, serious issues. Thank you for your time.

Most malls, schools, churches, etc... around here prohibit firearms except for cops. Since I ain't one, it's not an issue.

Really? Most malls in TN are smart enough to not prohibit licensed, trained citizens from carrying. Plus, we're pretty good at getting them blacklisted with several boycott groups if they do. For example: KFC in Memphis: Boycotted.

In MN you have to get the permission of a church to carry there. I have that permission at the appropriate houses of worship, though I don't have a MN carry permit.

Aside from the fact that I rarely if ever shit in a public restroom, if I have to drop trou, I just pull them down just far enough that the belt isn't past my knees. I can keep the gun and holster in my hands the entire time and don't have to worry about someone seeing it on the floor.

And if I catch someone looking at me under the stall door I'm kicking the ever loving bejesus out of him.

The law says I can't carry it in church, but the law is dumb so I ignore it.

The barber I go to open carries in his business and don't give a shit if my gun is concealed or not. He used to sell knives and ammo and other accesories tacked onto his walls, but that was some time ago.

The only place I don't carry is someplace like the courthouse which has metal detectors. Otherwise I'll carry anyplace I go, even when prohibited by law.

Fuck the TSA, the Postal Inspectors, the US Marshals, University Police, and anyone else that isn't going to be right there to save my ass when someone tries to kill me. I don't give a shit if it's a church or an entire state like Wisconsin. If I can get away with carrying it, I will. My life is more important to me that some stupid feel-good-do-nothing law. The only places I don't carry is someplace that will detect it, like courthouses and airports.

You can't carry in church?

Wait a minute...you carry on private property when the owners prohibit carrying?

To be honest I'm kinda torn on the issue. On the one hand you can't really say anything about respecting property right unless you respect property rights. On the otherhand I gotta wonder if the owner really gives a fuck, or is just bowing down to the 'guns scare me and make my vagina hurt' crowd.

I mean, if someone really wanted you to keep guns off their property, we'ed have Israeli style malls and shopping centres.

Doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned. If the property owner doesn't want guns, then that should be respected IMHO.

If the property owner wants me to leave, I will, but I'm not keen on surrendering the tools I need to keep me alive just because he doesn't like them.

The flip side of that coin is the property owner won't even know I have those tools until the shit hits the fan and I need to use them.

I respect your rights as a property owner, but not as much as I intend to continue drawing breath.

If it's a home of someone, yes. If it's the property of some company that wants totake my money, but wants me disarmed, then no.

Because there's never some whackjob with a gun in a mall, or on a university campus, or on a city street.

Ask the people at Virginia Tech or Luby's or the Appalachain School of Law if it's paranoia to think someone you've never met might want to kill you.

You'll need a oujia board to contact them.

Fortunately, you won't run into too many businesses in Florida who would put up such an offensive sign, JCD. :)

If the owner doesn't want you there, why not just deny him your money? Why violate his rights as a property owner b/c you want to spend your money there?

If a business owner doesn't want me to carry on his property, I don't want to give him my money. It's just that simple.

However, JCD, Ancalagon and Shoes are right. Anything you say in the future about property rights will be summarily ignored because the right to be secure in your person and property are equal and you blatantly ignore the property rights of others.

Oh, and Anc, don't let the reason someone posts a sign trouble you. It's their property and their right as a property owner to say what you can bring on that property and what you can't. Their motives are irrelevant.

Yeah, I know. I don't carry myself, but just thinking about if I did...

To be honest I'd probably just play ignorant. Unless you had an orange "Posted No Carrying" sign at the entrance I wouldn't just assume that b/c it was a mall I couldn't carry.

I make it a point to look for those signs even though I'm not subject to them and the only non government/airport-type place that I know of in this state that specifically forbids the carrying of firearms is my local hospital. They have small white signs with red letters on every door immediately above the handle saying, "You are welcome, your gun is not."

Edit: However, if you were to look at your "State of Alabama Pistol License", the following clauses are on the back of the license.

Because I need to buy things and those things are often in buildings with those stupid signs.

Look, I'm all in favor of property owners' rights until they start to interfere with my ability to not be a corpse.

How often do you see a psychiatrist? Deep rooted fears and constant paranoia can be signs of mental illness. Do you feel that there is always some looming figure who will take your life, around every corner? Are you afraid of some particular person or group?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of people's right to carry firearms, but your extremism is a tad out there.

Like I said earlier, I simply don't patronize places of business stupid enough to post.

I know the mall here used to post. They got boycotted.

When I see a business post that they ban guns, I just leave my gun in the car, walk in, and hand them a TFA (Tennessee Firearms Association) card that says, basically, "If you choose to ban guns, we choose to not do business with you."

So, they get to do what they want, and so do we.

The only business in town stupid enough to continue their victim-disarament policy is KFC.

Although recently I visited some liberal family in Nashville. I love 'em to death. My dad had run his mouth to them, so they knew I had a permit. They crossed the line, and asked me not to bring it with on the trip!!!

Frickers! So, I left it in my car, and parked it on the street - not in their driveway.
