And you'd guess wrong. I have one, although I think it is utter ridiculous that I have to have a permit to actually use a right.

But I woulnd't walk into someone's house with a gun if they didn't want me to. A company that doesn't care about me or my well-being and only about seperating me from my cash? I got no problem with.

If the mall wants to actually protect me and guarantee my safety, I'll happily leave my pistol at home, but since they aren't going to do shit beyond throw up a couple of stickers on the doors and hire a geriatric security guard, I guess it's up to me to save my life.

My life is more important to me than anything else, including corporate America's policy manuals.

Well, since you'll intentionally be violating that property owner's rights, I'm sure you'll be entirely understanding when he has you arrested.

    So lemme get this straight...

In your mind, your "right" to enter a private establishment, presumably to buy X product, superceeds the owners property rights?

...and don't give me that "My right to not be in a body bag..." bullshit, because that's not what I'm asking.

If I carried routinely, and I admit that I do not, I would NOT under any circumstances carry in a joint that prohibits it. I'd simply find a more gun-friendly establishment to patronize!

Im still laughing at anyone who needs to carry a gun while they get their hair cut.

Most people grow out of being scared of the hair cut before they get to 10 years old.

It's not that really. When I'm planning on leaving the house, it's not like I do some sort of if/then deal to decide if I'm going to take my gun along. I'm not like, "Hmm. I'm going to go get my hair cut. I wonder if I will need my gun. I think I shall."

When ever I'm going out, I just grab my gun...just like I grab my wallet, and keys. It's just a habit I've gotten into.

It's also a habit of mine to check the entrance to any establishment for "No Guns Allowed" signs.

It's got nothing to do with his rights in this case. If he's willing to take steps to ensure my safety, then I'll be happy to disarm myself, but a rent-a-cop isn't good enough for me.

My safety is my paramount concern, not his rights, especially if he isn't willing to take the steps necessary to secure his own property. If a business owner is serious about me not being armed on his property, it's up to him to spend the money on metal detectors, armed security, and so forth. If he really wants me to not step on his property in the first place he'd have done a hell of a lot more than putting a sticker on a door.

I'll tell you what isn't the issue in this case. Your safety isn't the issue. You have two legal and moral choices here...either leave your gun in the car, or go the fuck somewhere else to shop.

It's not always practical to shop elsewhere. Do I simply do without my kid's medicine when the pharmacy has a no gun sticker? Do without a loan when the bank has one? There may be a gun friendly hardware stopre somewhere in America, but it's not realistic to dirve halfway across the country to a bag of ten penny nails.

Okay, then since your safety is the upmost important, are you saying that if you could not shop at places that don't allow guns, it would put your life in just as much danger as shopping in those places unarmed?

If you're going to go on a shooting rampage, strickly to kill as many people as you can, where are you going to go, the place where folks might have concealed weapons or the place where everyone is disarmed?

I'm not taking the chance, regardless of the company policy. If that makes me a paranoid gun nut, so be it, but I also wouldn't frequent an establishment that didn't have fire exits, even if the fire code didn't demand them because shit happens.

You didn't answer my question. Here, I'll ask it again...

Are you seriously saying that if you could not shop at the places in your area that do not allow weapons...at all, that your life would be just as much in danger as if you shopped at those places unarmed?

I wouldn't be in as much danger of being killed by a criminal but my risk of starving or dying because I don't have my medicine goes way up.

Really? There are no Wal-Marts in your area? No Walgreens? I find it hard to believe that there are so many businesses in your area that don't allow firearms, that you would be put in such dire straits.

I'm curious about his lack of a Wal-Mart too.

In case he's wondering what the heck we're talking about, Wal-Mart's corporate policy is very CCW friendly. As long as they can't see your weapon exposed, you are cool. If your weapon is exposed (not just "bulging", but part of the weapon is clearly exposed and visible) their policy allows the Wal-Mart employees to decide whether to simply ask you to re-position your weapon, or to ask you to leave the store.

I will not shop at Wal-Mart after I was accused of theft by the manager of the local one.

I was trying to buy some more sinus stuff and brought in the old bottle and kept it in my jacket and pulled it out to compare it with what was on the shelf and put the old bottle back in my jacket. Some associate saw me, called management, and they made a big scene right there in the store about how they saw me stealing and had already called the cops and blah blah blah.

He shut right the fuck up when I showed hip the bottle was Kroger brand.

I won't step foot in a Wal-Mart and I definately won't give them a dime of my money.

It's the fault of the entire Wal-Mart company that one close-to-minimum wage dingus jumped the gun before he had all the facts?

Did you call for a manager and demand that you be apologized to? If he refused did you ask HIS manager to intervene?

If you didn't do any of that, then I say you were foolish.

If you did, and got not satisfaction, then ok, fuck them.

This isn't the first bit of shitty service I've gotten from Wallyworld, but it was the last. All the fucker had to do was clamly explain the situation and ask to see the bottle. But he acted like a tool and I've gotten the runaround from the district manager and can't get the regional manager to reutn my call.

    Fuck them.

When they approached you, were you a cocksucker to them about it, or did you calmly say something like "Hey, let's not jump to conclusions, ok? I know what it likes like, but if you let me show you the bottle you'll see that it's a brand you don't even sell at this store?"

Unfortunately, the attitude that you display on this message board leads me to believe that you got hostile and said "Fuck you, it's none of your damn business what's in my pocket" or something of the sort. I hope I'm wrong about that!

He comes rushing up to me telling me to empty my pockets. I say "what?" because I don't have a clue what he's on about. He starts in on how he knows I've been putting stuff in my pockets, there are witnesses, and he's already called the cops. I asked him "what the fuck are you talking about?" and he said he knows I had a bottle in my pocket. I pull out my Kroger brand bottle, showed it to him and demanded to talk to his supevisor. he tried to backpeddle and I told him I wanted the information right fucking now. He gave it to me, I left.
