Somewhere, on a mountainside overlooking this thread, our great hero, theburgerking lays invisibly, with his high-powered sniper rifle waiting for this masturbation fest to end so he can pick off the last survivors
Dear Republicans, Last night I had this dream involving six beautiful Swedish bikini models, a bottle of Vodka, a box of those little party favor noisemakers, and a genuine stuffed Bald Eagle. Paul Rodriguez was there, singing "That's Amore", while, under the stars and the moon, I swam naked in a Sauvignon blanc filled jacuzzi with the U.S. women's volleyball team. You know, I found out that you could do the backstroke with a wet noodle, so I decided to call it a stroodle. I kept showing all of the women my stroodle, and they would clap and cheer. At one point they would play with me and my stroodle, and I enjoyed that very much. Steely Dan played music and served drinks all night long. It was delightful. Love, John XXOOXXOXOXOX
Dear Republicans, If the batshit-crazy left is going apoplexic, you're doing something right. Keep up the good work, Paladin
Nonono, its all of you lot You can't try and split yourselves into left and right, it just doesn't work
Hey, the thread got people's attention. This place was so boring *someone* had to post something inflammatory. Ever since Obama got elected, the Right has been so whiny like a pack of sore losers, that I got sick of it. Attention Righties: You had your 8 years of power, fucking deal with it.
Meh, when conservatives deluge random Europeans with teary-eyed photos of themselves holding "I'm sorry" signs you may have a point. If anything, as this letter points out, liberals can't stop whining even when they've won. They have control over the entire government. Now is your chance, do your thing, or is your thing simply whining about conservatives?
^ Let's be completely fair though. When conservatives held the entire government, there was still non-stop bitching about liberals. The cycle just doesn't end. It's all bullshit. J.
It is all bullshit yet the two sides of our one party system don't have identical tactics despite having identical goals. Neither side has a monopoly on any one behavior but they're by no means equivalent in their use of any one tactic, and at the end of the day, liberals whine a whole lot more.
Which side shows up to protest with their matching t-shirts, pre-printed signs and rhyming slogans? I'll give you a hint: it's not the side that has jobs and real lives.
They pretty much are. At least with the Republicans, the national debt car isn't going at warp speed.
I disagree. I do so on the grounds that you cannot lump in any particular political ideology with the qualifier "...whine a whole lot more". Everyone is different. There are just assholes that whether Republican or Democrat, are going to seriously try to screw everyone else over. Ideology has little to do with it. To me, they both bitch nonstop. Non. Stop. When Bill Clinton was in office, every little tiny thing was thrown at him. Finally they got him for lying about a blowjob. Called it perjury and talked of it gravely. Bull fucking shit. Yes, he lied under oath, and he would have been smarter to just admit it, but if he did, he would have been lynched just that much sooner. The conservatives in government were out for blood, and it didn't matter what it was. Perjury? Bullshit. I don't take that accusation at all seriously when it comes from a politician. Perjury and bullshit is a way of life, so when other politicians cluck their tongues, I just shake my head, because someone's about to pile on a whole lot of bullshit, and people are going to believe it because they'd rather believe the other guy was a child raping baby killer than admit that their own guy is just as full of shit. It's not politics, it's sports teams. It's picking sides. As long as there's another guy with another idea, he's wrong, stupid, trying to kill us all and a communist. It never ends. You don't have to think, you just say the cliches and feel secure knowing that the higher ups will do the thinking for you. That's partisan politics. I despise it, because it means no one's interested in the truth, fuck the truth, they're interested in being right, at any cost. Fuck truth, fuck good will, fuck honesty, clarity and concern for your fellow man. As long as your guy ends up smelling like roses, fuck you all. That is the mindset partisan hackery brings to the game, and what we're seeing from the Republican aspects of the government, just like the Democrats, is another game of partisan hackery. There's no "but they're much worse". They're ALL bad. They all bitch, they all complain. Each side will say "but we weren't that bad", which is a bunch of goddamned bullshit. Everybody's dying, dead or doomed after every election. "Oh my God, Dubya's going to start fuckin' world war III, institute the draft and make us all pray to Jesus!" "Oh my God, Obama's a communist, socialist muslim who wants to kill grandma!" and it's a bunch of white knuckled reactionary bullshit. Bullshit. All of it. J.
Then this thread must represent one of two things to you: A. A crushing disappointment B. A massive delusional episode Given that there are no pissed off people here (except maybe you) (I won't point out there are no right wing "retards" even posting in this thread since we already know you are delusional on THAT point) Still. let me just note the irony one more time of a person posting an article talking about how people on the right have coarsened the debate in this country and then referring to those folks as "retards"
The common goal is to be elected, that's all our perpetually campaigning politicians seek to achieve. Same goes for their fans, once their guy, their team (donkeys or elephants) is elected it's over. Most don't give a crap what happens next, the victory lies solely in their guy, their team winning.
No you don't, you and I are on the same page when it comes to our one party system. You might disagree with me that the tactics aren't identical but we share the same general outlook. A clever soundbyte, a quick means of dismissing the fact that President Clinton was impeached but that's about it. Not to rehash the sequence of events but President Clinton did lie under oath. You wanna say it's no big deal that's fine, I'd like to know how big of a deal it was when President Nixon tried to cover up the break in at the Watergate Office complex? I've been saying that for years! In fact I daresay you got that analogy from me!
I was forced to listen to democratic congressman give a talk and answer questions yesterday. For the most part he was good, but he just could help mentioning how "my collegues across the aisle" were obstructing his attempts to do good work once.
I like this thread. Yesterday I got a total of 10 negative rep points from the same five people who each of whom gave me two because I said it was loony to shout provably wrong nonsense at people trying to hold a serious conversation. The consensus among the Republicans giving me negative rep points was that it was "patriotic" to shout lies and nonsense at people. And they wonder why most people think of Republicans as loons. Maybe they can tell us again how the President is really from Kenya or that providing health insurance creates "death panels"
Nixon covered up a criminal activity he authorized; Clinton lied to keep from admitting getting a hummer from a fat chick (I would have done the same - in fact, I'd still be denying it now). Nixon didn't lie under oath; he was never given the chance. Not to condone perjury, but I'd say there was a difference. As far as the Nazi=Communits crap, Nazis were fascists not communists or socialists. Any first year PolySci class will tell you that. Checking with my chart that puts them on the extreme far right. They may have had 'Socialist' in their name (USSR did too, they were communists), but their actions were fascists no matter what they called themselves.
I know that you might not be able to afford staying here forever... let me know if you can't, so that I can send you support money. You are truly a Missionary of Stupidity.
In fairness while Nazis weren't socialist, your chart is bullshit, as is any attempt to represent the diverse range of social and economic systems along a one-dimensional line.
I never meant to suggest there wasn't a difference of circumstance, I was asking John to compare them on the Big Deal-O-Meter. Judging by your characterizations it seems you consider President Nixon's misadventures of a much more grievous nature than President Clinton's. Fair enough.
Nixon never authorized Watergate. His mistake was in covering it up instead of tossing all the people involved under the bus.
